Anyone else making a 'COVID memory box'?

No me neither but I saw a post on Facebook today from a lady asking for advice about what else she can add to her COVID memory box !! Personally I want to forget the whole damn horror once it's over. Anyone else ?

Can't imagine we will ever forget it,but memory box,no I don't think so

Winterwoollies · 04/05/2020 21:47

Her letter from Boris, a toilet roll, the last fish finger and a map to where she buried the bodies. Done.

BikeRunSki · 04/05/2020 21:48

An empty flour bag

AndMyHairWillShineLikeTheSea · 04/05/2020 21:49

I'm keeping the letter from Boris. I figure my grandchildren might be studying this in school one day.

Sparklingbrook · 04/05/2020 21:49

God no, what would you do with it?

yearinyearout · 04/05/2020 21:49

Yeah, mine is full of empty biscuit packets

Willowmartha1 · 04/05/2020 21:49

I'm keeping my letter from Boris and I will obviously tell my Daughter about it when she is older but a memory box ick !!

Boris's letter will be online somewhere or you could take a picture of it, seems a bit odd to put the actual letter in a box.

CalmdownJanet · 04/05/2020 21:53

I am doing one of sorts with the kids, I saw a "Covid time capsule" thing on a fb page set up to give parents ideas of things to do with kids during lockdown, I printed one off each, they do a letter to themselves, an interview with a parent/adult, nothing too ott, I won't bury it or put it in a dedicated memory box but I will do it with them, it will kill an afternoon on a rainy day and might be nice when they are older

avocadoze · 04/05/2020 21:54

You got a letter from Boris? Perhaps you’re more special than us.

Megan2018 · 04/05/2020 21:54

I think a box is a bit OTT but I have 7 month old so going to keep a few Coronavirus bits in my baby memory box (full of all the normal nice baby things!) just because it will be an interesting piece of history for her and I don’t want to forget it all.

pearpickingporky84 · 04/05/2020 21:54

8 year old DS1 is making one! He’s filled in one of those ‘COVID-19 Time Capsules’ that DH printed off the internet and is keeping our Boris letter.
I’m a HCP and he’s asked if he can have my scrubs and some left over PPE when this is over Hmm. He has ASD and ADHD so does think a bit differently to others but he reckons his grandchildren will be interested in the same way he’s been interested in my great grandfathers things from the war!

LilacTree1 · 04/05/2020 21:55

I’m with you OP

I never want to think about it again

I’ll have to, in a civil rights context, but why anyone would make a memory box is beyond me.

RickOShay · 04/05/2020 21:55

Grin @Winterwoollies
I’d also add a print out of some of the funniest comic memes

RickOShay · 04/05/2020 21:55

Covid

SquirtleSquad · 04/05/2020 21:56

God no.

LilacTree1 · 04/05/2020 21:56

It did occur to me today to make a collage and then write really offensive stuff on it but I think what I’d like to put on it would make it a crime, literally, I mean under the old regime.

LuvMyBoyz · 04/05/2020 21:56

Just the usual photos I take of activities e.g. walks, new recipes, completed jigsaws, social distancing queues.

Sparklingbrook · 04/05/2020 21:58

Everyone on the UK got a letter from Boris didn't they? Well every household they didn't have names on.

This will all be alive on You Tube and similar for many years to come if anyone wants to revisit it.

Covert20 · 04/05/2020 21:59

I haven’t had a letter from Boris 🧐 maybe he knew I wouldn’t want one...

Bargainhuntbore · 04/05/2020 22:02

IMO a memory box is something you like to remember. Fuck, I don’t want to remember this shit.

Winterwoollies · 04/05/2020 22:04

@RickOShay And a signed photo of Chris Whitty.

AJPTaylor · 04/05/2020 22:05

I intend to create a mental box, put 2020, covid etc in it and put a very firm fucking lid on it.

strawberry2017 · 04/05/2020 22:05

I'm due my second DC on Wednesday and I plan on keeping the government letter as something to show him when he's older but not a specific memory box no.
