AIBU - Neighbour yelling “Ballsack”

Charlbugh · 03/05/2020 18:04

DH and I have lived here for in excess of 10 years. It’s a nice area and we get along with most of our neighbours, or at least the ones in our road that we know.

There is one house two doors down that appears to be rented out as rooms. We don’t tend to see or hear much from them, just occasionally we see a new face going in and out the gate.

We have been at home all day today, as have DD1 and DD2 (as it is the weekend). Every half hour or so, I have heard angry shouting coming from somewhere - I assume from the house with rented rooms. DH has been out to try and work out what is happening, but cannot see anything. Unfortunately our house does not overlook their garden. He says that when he’s outside all he can hear is a male voice shouting what appears to be “ballsack”.

I am concerned for the persons wellbeing, as this is not normal behaviour. DH says to ignore it, I would prefer to call the police and have them look into it as it is not sensible nor appropriate behaviour. AIBU?

This is the best laugh I’ve had in weeks....not the OP so much but the responses! Thanks all, needed that!

LittleLeaps · 03/05/2020 18:54

My first thought if it's quite frequent would be tourette's or similar where it's become a tic that is out of the person's control. Really, really not a police matter.

MumUndone · 03/05/2020 18:54

Looool

tartanbow · 03/05/2020 18:54

I also think probably a gamer. my partner shouts all sorts of profanities when he is loosing blooming fifa Hmm

Highlandcathedral · 03/05/2020 18:55

As a previous poster said my guess would be it’s a gamer, possibly with earphones on so they can’t hear themselves. My adult son, currently wfh from our house games when not working and regularly shouts out nonsense and swears a lot at the game, or at his mates online with him.

fishonabicycle · 03/05/2020 18:57

I am actually very disappointed with this - I was hoping at the very least you had been called ballsack! My next pet is definitely going to be named Balzac, just so I can shout it out.

DodgyTrousers · 03/05/2020 18:57

😂😂😂

Charlbugh · 03/05/2020 18:58

I hope our children would not be the type to shout “ballsack”. We have brought them up (reasonably) well and one has attended an independent secondary school which achieves outstanding results each year. I’m sure they are perfectly capable of digression into “potty mouth”, but they would have the sense to know it isn’t acceptable.

When camping at a festival ballsack was the word if one shouted, everyone shouted. Maybe he's having some sort of Glasto in his back garden? You and DH are supposed to shout it back

Charlbugh · 03/05/2020 18:59

Also we haven’t heard anything shouted for some time now, so hopefully it has come to an end.

@Charlbugh how deluded do you have to be. Nice go at a stealth boast. If you really believe that each at every teen at the school you boast your child goes too. Has never sworn you are as deluded as I thought you were. You been on the wine ?

SpudsAreLife84 · 03/05/2020 19:01

Oh come on OP, you are having a laugh aren't you?! Ballsack hahaha! Go on then, call the police and tell them the local rif raf from the rented rooms are causing a ruckus and you are worried it will have a knock on effect for your own DC Grin

Cosyblanky · 03/05/2020 19:01

Is someone doing waxing and calling the next customer?

PawPawNoodle · 03/05/2020 19:01

Yes, nothing bad ever happens at independent secondary schools that achieve outstanding results each year. They get the cane if they utter anything even slightly resembling a swear word, don't you know.

Out of interest, who do you consider the 'type' to shout out ballsack?

loutypips · 03/05/2020 19:01

Next time he does it shout back "ping pong balls or basketballs?"

tenlittlecygnets · 03/05/2020 19:02

I've been shouting 'ballsack' every half hour today too, op! Sorry, I didn't think you could hear me in your detached soundproofed house...

iklboo · 03/05/2020 19:02

@vodkaredbullgirl - my thoughts exactly. Fries with that?

MarieIVanArkleStinks · 03/05/2020 19:03

This thread has made my whole day Grin

aWeaponCalledtheWord · 03/05/2020 19:03

hello? is this 101? i’d like to log this, not as a crime as such, but just so there’s a record for if it escalates. i think i can hear someone shouting ‘ballsack’ from a house i suspect to be of... multiple occupancy .

i mean, it being rented as rooms is bad enough, wouldn’t you agree, officer? but this additional... behaviour has really worried me. thank you, offic-hello? hello???

BRIAN! I THINK THEY PUT THE PHONE DOWN ON ME! SHOULD I RING 999 NOW?

Washyourhandsyoufilthyanimal · 03/05/2020 19:04

I guess you don’t live in London?

Iooselipssinkships · 03/05/2020 19:05

I really should've sent my daughter to an independent secondary school with good results. Instead she just wanders round the streets aimlessly shouting bollocks and arseholes.
