Saw one mother post about their 'sexy little man'?
One year old doing a pose.
Personally I just think it's weird.
AIBU to think calling your child sexy is weird??

OP posts:
CuppaZa · 02/05/2020 21:21

Vile

MashedSpud · 02/05/2020 21:23

Urgh.

I read the thread title to DH and he also said “Urgh”.

Isawamagpie · 02/05/2020 21:39

Can't stand it, have come across it several times and I just think its terribly inappropriate, immature and wrong.

OneOfTheGrundys · 02/05/2020 21:41

Ugh.
My old neighbour used to call my dog sexy. 🤮

mumwon · 02/05/2020 21:49

trump thinks his daughter is sexy - enough said

SudokuBook · 02/05/2020 21:52

My uncle’s wife (yes I know she was technically my aunt, but he and she are only a few years older than me) used to call my son “sexy” when he was a baby, I really didnt like it

Hanamuslim · 02/05/2020 21:52

I call my 4 year old a mini hunk, cos hes a big chunky boy with a big belly but never use the sexy word. Its ridiculous and very inappropriate...

On the other hand , I think my husband should change his name to sexy. Hes just so gorgeous and irresistible

EveryLifeHasASoundtrack · 02/05/2020 21:55

It’s weird. I’ve only heard it once before and I was a bit 😳🤮.

ArthurandJessie · 02/05/2020 21:57

That is the weirdest thing I've ever heard ! People actually do that ? If someone said that to my boys I'd be horrified wtf is wrong with people ?

amber763 · 02/05/2020 21:58

I cant believe 7 percent of people think you're unreasonable. Soooo inappropriate

Spirali · 02/05/2020 21:58

I don’t think they have realised how that’s come across. Obviously she doesn’t think her child is sexy. It’s inappropriate but I wouldn’t read too much into it.

Toddlerteaplease · 02/05/2020 21:58

Ugh I hate it when people say that to babies and toddlers.

Scarydinosaurs · 02/05/2020 21:59

I’ve heard people say this. Tend to be of a certain background. They don’t see it as anything strange. I find it gross.

NeneValley · 02/05/2020 22:00

She probably thinks ‘sexy’ is also slang for ‘look how good-looking my child is’.

It’s a regular statement on Facebook profiles from those women with 🐾 paw print tattoos on their boobs and fake eyebrows.

Gtugccbjb · 02/05/2020 22:01

Meh it’s as weird as you make it. I wouldn’t say that or put it on Facebook but we mess around sometimes and say “oh sexy” in a funny voice. If for example a kid put some lipstick on. It’s not a vile adult word in our house. More of a joke word. Probably is in their house too.

firstimemamma · 02/05/2020 22:03

Yanbu. I took my toddler to the supermarket recently in shorts and a t-shirt and the member off staff responsible for managing the queue said "oooh look at his sexy knees!" I gave her a confused look and unable to take a hint she just said it again. Grossed me out! Wish I'd have said something.

Paw print tattoos... 🤣 Is that really a thing?

loopylindazdaughter · 02/05/2020 22:04

Aw that's awful, makes me shudder

emelsie · 02/05/2020 22:06

I will always remember the time I had bumped into someone I knew and she had a baby daughter , less than a year old, while we were chatting some other people she knew approached her and while they were all admiring her baby one of the women said "she's so sexy" HmmHmm turned my stomach

LoseLooseLucy · 02/05/2020 22:07

Ewwww 😷

Mammyloveswine · 02/05/2020 22:10

Hate this, see a lot in the north east where I teach! Makes me cringe!

Mummyshark2019 · 02/05/2020 22:12

Disgusting

EastMidsMumOf1 · 02/05/2020 22:12

I'm on the fence.
Saying it myself feels odd but I've heard others call their baby a sexy little man/lady and I never thought about it more than once which is now while replying to this post Grin

EastMidsMumOf1 · 02/05/2020 22:13

*twice not while

namechangecareerchange · 02/05/2020 22:14

Horrid. I call DS "my lover" but in a West Country way /accent - we just mean it to be affectionate, in the same way I use it to friends. But not in a Mr Lover Lover Boombastic kinda way (and sorry that song is now in your head)
