Hi all
dont do LOA constantly but it has worked a few times.
We have been trying for a baby for 4 months and this I wrote it in my notepad I will have a baby in Jan 2021 after finding out I am pregnant the end of April...yesterday the 30th April I got positive test! And they are getting stronger today. We only had sex twice this month just shows! I also made a mind movie on my phone of preg ladies and babies and watched it everyday for visulisation the universe has listened!!

People are trying to explain as clearly as possible why they find LOA insensitive. Personally I find it offensive that no-one who believes in LOA acknowledged the pp who explained her own difficulties with conceiving and said that if she had believed in LOA at the time it would have broken her.

I don't find LoA offensive. And so what if I did? I don't have the right to go thru life without being offended, none of us do. And just because we're offended doesn't make us right.

I find LoA stupid. I think anyone who believes it is stupid. If they aren't stupid, they clearly lack the ability to think critically. It's pseudo scientific claptrap (as per the poster on here trying to explain it by electromagnatism, ffs.). It's also very arrogant, to think that the universe knows who we are or gives a fuck if we live or die.

Ridiculous load of old bollocks. It's the kind of thing I'd expect children to believe....and not very bright ones at that.

CoffeeIsMyOnlyJoy · 02/05/2020 21:35

After my fourth miscarriage in 12 months I read this and my eyes rolled so hard they hit the back of my head.

Exactly this. Much of MN are here for the support with miscarriage and infertility. To post nonsense like LOA is insensitive, as well as being astonishingly stupid.

I hope the OP puts a bit more thought than this into parenting.

Laurend0603 · 02/05/2020 21:40

Oh my people need to get off their high horses 😂 turning a little story into this! Pointing out personal stuff about people that wasnt even mentioned madness!

OP posts:
Peapod29 · 02/05/2020 21:45

I don’t get it. You had unprotected sex for four months and found you were pregnant and you attribute it to some magical mystical magic? Congratulations anyway.

donquixotedelamancha · 02/05/2020 21:55

Oh my people need to get off their high horses 😂 turning a little story into this!

Indeed. Why on earth would it be acceptable for people to say that you are being unreasonable?

Incidentally OP, did you find out what AIBU means?

HailHydra · 02/05/2020 22:03

@Laurend0603 maybe you could write something down. Something like, nasty mumsnet haterz/keyboard warriors, I hope they get naff karma. Boo!

Laurend0603 · 02/05/2020 22:06

@hailhydra I would never do that 😂

OP posts:
bee222 · 02/05/2020 22:10

Lauren, people who have suffered with fertility problems are telling you why posting how LOA helped you get pregnant is insensitive.
Telling them to “get off their high horse” with laughing emojis (many laughing emojis throughout this thread) shows an utter lack of self awareness, maturity, grace and tact.

With all due respects - please grow up.

HailHydra · 02/05/2020 22:11

I have had multiple miscarriages and now I'm dealing with cancer. Is this my fault, @Laurend0603?

EdwynCollins · 02/05/2020 22:13

OP is either on an insensitive windup or is incredibly immature and not self aware

Thisismytimetoshine · 02/05/2020 22:14

What bee222 said. With bells on.

Laurend0603 · 02/05/2020 22:15

Believe me it's not the people that have suffered this I am talking too! Never mentioned that in the post was light hearted story no offence meant it's the key board warriors that brought this up I would mention something personal like that good night all 👍

OP posts:
Thisismytimetoshine · 02/05/2020 22:17

You are talking too everybody on the thread, presumably. But not listening. Your attitude stinks.

HailHydra · 02/05/2020 22:19

@Laurend0603 I'm one of those "keyboard warriors" that you're talking about.

I think the whole thing is bullshit aimed at not particularly smart people.

But still. Is the cancer my fault?

HolyWells · 02/05/2020 22:20

No one is this stupid. Surely.

MouthBreathingRage · 02/05/2020 22:22

It's been explained to you in many ways why the idea that you got pregnant when you wanted through 'asking the universe' and positive vibes is anywhere between insensitive to downright offensive. If you choose to ignore that, @Laurend0603, that's your perogative. However, it doesn't bode well how naive you are about the most basics of biology or even life itself if this is the attitude. Best of luck with the pregnancy and having a child.

peperethecat · 02/05/2020 22:32

I hope you grow up a little before your baby arrives, OP.

Laurend0603 · 02/05/2020 22:42

I will be fine font worry, good luck to you all have a good night! X

OP posts:
EdwynCollins · 02/05/2020 22:51

Are you going to rely on words in a book and positive thinking to keep your child healthy or go the old fashioned route and vaccinate?

Mrhodgeymaheg · 02/05/2020 23:00

Congrats OP. I know a few people who like this stuff and what strikes me is both the men and women who endorse these theories appear to have half their faces stapled to the back of their heads and their lips injected with half a ton of filler. Then they tell you juicing loads of vegetables everyday keeps you young. I think it is more to do with the thousands that they spend on cosmetic surgery. Why couldn't they just think themselves as young? Surely that's how it works?

To be honest anything is worth a pop right now. I'll keep dreaming about my big house, even though no amount of dreaming will make it materialise. It's better than being miserable.

Dazedandconfusedpart2 · 02/05/2020 23:00

God, this is a cult if I've ever seen one.

Fear not, OP will see sense in the morning because I've written it down in my pink, sparkly 'She believed she could so she did' notebook and wished for it really hard.
A falling star may have also gone by so it's a sure sign from the universe that it's heard me and it does care. Grin

Seriously though, congratulations on the pregnancy. I just hope you're not as vapid and unthinking in real life, especially towards women who might find the idea that they're responsible for the hardships in their lives offensive.

Mummadeeze · 03/05/2020 00:48

It completely changed my life. I know it works. Every time I have dedicated time to asking the Universe for something, it has been acknowledged and happened. I was in a dire situation in many ways and someone suggested I watch the video and read the book. After following the advice, everything started to go right again. It really was a lifeline. I was sceptical but there have been too many good things that have come about now for me to not have faith in it. I understand people not believing in it and I can’t explain it, but it does work.

Tramolamodol · 03/05/2020 00:59

@mummadeeze how does it explain why bad things happen? If it explains the good, surely it does the bad?

Laurend0603 · 03/05/2020 07:00

@Mummadeeze well said! Xx

Inthepurplerain · 03/05/2020 07:34

So you’ll believe that it works but won’t understand that by believing that it works there are children dying of starvation, people losing their babies, people being murdered in domestic abuse situations, people being attacked and killed by strangers, people getting cancer, a whole load of other things that are basically described as happening because they’re not positive enough? Or not WANTing anything enough?

Also, what makes you so special that ‘the universe’ ‘brings’ you exactly what you wanted?

Believing in the law of attraction is as bad as believing that your wish will come true when you blow out your birthday candles.

This book picks out the most gullible from society, those who can’t really understand what they’re reading very well and who are feeling a bit vulnerable, it doesn’t work.
