to ask what 6yo boys want?

HarlinRay · 30/04/2020 15:18

I want to send my 6yo nephew a toy or game he can play with by himself that will delight him beyond all sense and will keep him busy enough to give my sister a break now and then.

He’s sporty (loves American football and, weirdly, golf- his granddad is a golfer) but probably has every piece of sport related equipment imaginable. He used to like floor jigsaw puzzles but has gone off those now. Also into superheroes, especially Spider-Man.

Any ideas?

What about a swingball set for the garden?

Vanillaradio · 30/04/2020 16:26

Mine wants Dogman books mostly Grin these keep him busy for a while. Also likes puzzle books. As far as games go- he likes table football and darts (Velcro not with pointy bits!) and a tin can alley game he can play in the garden.

FrogOfFrogHall · 30/04/2020 18:37

Mine loves his Kindle fire (but a tablet might be controversial!), Lego (although that might require adult help), Playmobil, magazines (the kind with a toy on the front), puzzle books with things like spot the difference and colouring in, new colouring pens, super hero figures, things that he can use like binoculars, compass etc, dress up etc

Football kits
Football figures
Footballs

My DS is football obsessed. Any other toys just get neglected and I eventually take them to a charity shop.

If you don't know their interests I'd stick with cash.

What’s your budget?

YouJustDoYou · 30/04/2020 18:47

Lego?

DrKnickerbocker9 · 30/04/2020 18:48

My 6 year old ds loves Lego and minecraft! He’d love anything to do with either of those things! He also likes doing crafts and junk modelling!

museumum · 30/04/2020 18:50

Mine loves lego (no parental input required) and dogman books (again independent reading).

TwoBlueFish · 30/04/2020 18:50

Stomp rocket !

indecisivewoman81 · 30/04/2020 18:53

My six year old is really into Minecraft and Roblox. For both you can buy little figures and sets and he will happily play for hours.

Alternatively my son likes a plastic sword, a toy gun and fancy dress and will run around the house fighting "bad guys"

BogRollBOGOF · 30/04/2020 18:54

Lego, Minecraft, Pokemon, Minecraft, football, Minecraft, guns (sticks found on walks) oh and Minecraft.
There's also Minecraft Grin

Mine adores playmobil and monster trucks.

Mine loved play doh sets at that age, with extra play doh. I used to give him bun trays and muffin trays and cases too and he was away.

maddening · 30/04/2020 19:15
