I honestly don't know. Possibly a beach in Bali.

Masada, "the fortress" is on a plateau overlooking the Dead Sea. It's accessible either on foot via the Snakepath round the mountainside, but I took the cable car

Not only is the scenery stunning, but the story behind Masada is so fascinating. If you like a good tale, here it is www.atlasobscura.com/places/masada

Masada shall not fall again

Oh I've a few

Flying into England on a plane. Loads of fields and trees. All so neat
Italy on a lake both at night and in sunlight. Both pretty awesome.
Ireland among mountains in the SE of Ireland. The size of them compared to you as you're driving on a tiny road at the bottom is majestic and makes you feel tiny.

Oh and the Atlantic Ocean from the West coast of Ireland. Pretty sure it's the only part of Europe that touches an ocean? Wild.

Petra, the treasury as the sun rose was breathtaking. Also Halong Bay in Vietnam was stunning, but I will never tire of the Camel Estuary where I walk the dogs most mornings

I’ve seen a billion and one views that are awe inspiring. Watching the sun go down, lying on a private yacht off the coast of Aruba, just after my best friend had died, will always be the one I will remember the most. It was gut wrenchingly beautiful and I cried for about 4 hours.

NYC skyline at night from Long Island city.

Climbed a volcano in Bali, the view from the summit was garbage due to clouds but as we made our way down there were some spectacular views.

There’s a hike near Chamonix up a ridge On the side of the Mont Blanc range.
The ridge ascends between two glaciers. At the top of the ridge/end of the hike is the point where the first glacier splits in two.

You can just sit there and soak up the sheer vastness of it all and listen to the glaciers moving and creaking. It’s breathtaking.

I think the hike is called Les Bossons or something like that.

Also the view from Aguille di Midi viewing station out across to Mont Blanc. Stunning.

I cycled the north coast 500 a few tears ago. The weather was amazing and the views were breathtaking.

Also cycled round the French alps which were just awesome. (Bit of a theme here).

From my living room window I can see coniston old man and when we have a nice sunset it's lovely.

Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda, beautiful scenery and spending one hour with the gorillas has been my favourite wildlife experience.

Im in love with New York and one year decided to stay over the river (cheaper!) in New Jersey. Had got to the accommodation really late and then woke up early with jet lag. My sister was awake too, we just sat and had a cuddle with a coffee and watched the the sunrise slowly lighting up a
the view of the Manhattan skyline. Makes my eyes water now remembering it!

I’ve seen some amazing views in Malawi, New Zealand, Singapore, but the best views are coming in to land at an airport in the U.K. after a trip (seeing home) and as a pp has said, the drive through Glencoe to the Highlands.

May sound boring, but watching Concorde take off when it was in service.

Apart from the raw power making the ground shake when it was off down the runway, it was a thing of absolute beauty. I could watch it time and time again and never get bored.

The view at sunset from the Tanjung Riu in langkawi, it has beautifully positioned rocks in the sea and the sky is blood red every night.
Walking up the dune path and catching the first glimpse of the sea through the grass at first light in Cuba is lovely too, perfect serenity.

The Schwedagon Pagoda in Rangoon/Yangon.

But I think I find beautiful scenes in Scotland more moving possibly because I identify with the people who have lived there over the centuries and have now gone.

I've travelled the world and seen the most spectacular sights, but the three that stay with me:

  1. The Grand Canyon.
  2. The view over Rio at sunset from sugar loaf mountain.
  3. Emerging out of thick cloud cover on a cable car in the middle of the Swiss alps. The Eiger was right there. I'd never seen anything like it before. Sunny day with snow capped mountains. Couldn't see a thing from the ground and I'd been really disappointed. It took guts to get on that cable car though!!!

Iguazu falls. Niagara was a ‘is this it?’, after iguazu nothing compares.

Northern lights.

Tulum in Mexico.

Sunset in Oia.

Yes to lake Louise.

Blue mountains.

Penguins coming out of the sea, Philip Island.

So many more as well.

If I was to choose one place to go back to before I die it would be Iguazu.

A flight in a six seater over the south island in New Zealand. It was winter, masses of snow and a crystal clear blue sky. Flying into and landing in Milford Sound. Totally breathtaking.

The cliffs lit at Al Husn in Oman. The night sky in a desert camp in Oman.

The absolute best is the Hex River valley on the East Coast of SA just outside Cape Town. I was raised in SA and this place is in my DNA....
