There's been various posts about it, and it feels like 50/50 but I could be wrong. That's why I'm posting in AIBU so we can have a poll. Personally I've lost weight.

Vote YANBU if you've lost weight.
Vote YABU if you've gained weight.

If your weight has stayed the same - sorry but the poll can only have two possible answers Grin

I've lost half a stone because all the restaurants and cafes are closed, and I can't buy snacks on my way home from work because I'm already home. We've been cooking healthier meals.

Other people have been saying the opposite, that they've been sitting at home eating crisps.

Gained.

Gained

Quite a bit unfortunately. I was in marathon training until I had to retreat totally into the shield group. And despite working out every day and running 5k virtual races in the back yard, I’m only managing a monthly mileage that’s similar to the weekly one when in full on training,

And the decline in appetite did not match the crash in training.

I really need to start paying more attention to get the balance back, so I can get back to my ‘racing weight’ by mid/late summer

MotherWol · 30/04/2020 10:18

Lost about 4lbs. I’m not cycling to work every day, but I’m not popping to Pret for a croissant and a flat white either, so it seems to balance out. Doing a 30 minute workout with weights every day, and my tummy is slowly looking a bit more toned.

puffinandkoala · 30/04/2020 10:19

Gained a bit (haven't weighed myself but looking in the mirror) although my clothes still fit. I am doing quite a lot of exercise like going for a run or using my exercise bike, but it's the loss of all the incidental exercise which makes the difference to me, eg walking to and from the railway station or to the shops (though I do walk to the shops every few days to get things).

Things mount up in normal life. For example when I go swimming it's about 300 steps from the car to the changing room, so 600 round walk. Those sorts of things mount up over a day.

DinosApple · 30/04/2020 10:26

About the same. I was losing a little a week before, but plateaued during lockdown.

Annoyingly, my aim for lockdown was to do couch 2 5k, but a bad chest infection for the first month put paid to that. I still have twinges, so not up to running yet.

Colinthedog · 30/04/2020 10:28

Can’t face the scales but pretty sure I’ve gained. Still exercising nearly every day and have taken up running again, as I think being fit and active is really important right now, for my physical and mental health. But my diet discipline disappeared the day my holiday was cancelled. It’s annoying as I’d only just got back to my pre baby weight when this all started after giving birth last summer, and was feeling really motivated to shift another half a stone for my holiday. Doesn’t seem like much point now, but hopefully I’ll regain my motivation once the end of lockdown is in sight....

No time to eat, so have lost weight! homeschool, childcare, work, ...

Difficultcustomer · 30/04/2020 10:32

Lost a bit but not where I want. A bit off stomach. My feet seem to have got slimmer, would have preferred my arms. For me less snacking and being in a house not a flat so up and down the stairs.

Polowithoutahole · 30/04/2020 10:34

Definitely gained but I dont dare face the scales to know how much by. I work in a physical job usually so my exercise level has crashed completely as I'm now working from home entirely on the computer. And I'm drinking more.

walkingchuckydoll · 30/04/2020 10:39

Gained 1 lb but I'm pregnant so it's possibly not be from overeating. I eat quite consciously because I don't exercise as much. I do bake but limit my treats to a maximum of 2 cookies or mini brownies a day, but preferably less.

DH however scoffs everything in and out of sight so he might gain some.

LauraLooDerby · 30/04/2020 10:44

Lost 12lb
Walking 2-3 miles every day from the house and breastfeeding probably helps!

TheRealSlamShady · 30/04/2020 10:54

I think my weight is much the same (never weigh myself) but I'm firmer and fitter due to daily HIIT and other training I have finally found the time to do! I know the reason I'm not loosing is the wine consumption Blush. I am eating more healthy as I have time now to plan and cook and kids are eating healthier too.

PeanutButterCheesecake · 30/04/2020 19:31

Lost, but it is deliberate, and I've been slowly losing since December. Could have lost more but I tend to snack when bored. About 1 pound per week.

Yogamad38 · 30/04/2020 20:01

I'm losing weight intentionally, Covid19 has given me a wake up call and motivated me to eat healthily and take up regular cardio exercise. I feel healthier, fitter and I have a lot more energy.

timeforawine · 30/04/2020 20:12

Lost a small amount, doing Joe Wicks everyday and doing 16:8.
But i am eating too many sweets Sad

FireandFury · 30/04/2020 20:15

Lost weight here. We’ve been exercising every singe day either running, cycling or doing indoor strength training and I can really notice. We’ve also been eating a really low carb diet which has helped

MrsSnitchnose · 30/04/2020 20:19

Gained about half a stone. Back to eating better tomorrow, and just paid for a 3 month subscription on the DDP yoga app. Think I'm more likely to perservere if I'm paying 😂

Needallthesleep · 30/04/2020 20:19

Gained weight. A lot. I am pregnant with horrible morning sickness, and massively struggling with food. I’m also looking after my toddler and working full time so no energy for exercise.

Really down about my appearance at the moment.

Tangledyarn · 30/04/2020 20:22

Lost half a stone having covid, now I'm recovering am definitely gaining...eating too much ice cream and posh bread.

LaurieMarlow · 30/04/2020 20:26

Mmm, stayed the same.

I’m eating more treats and exercising less. But I’m also having simpler lunches compared to what I would usually have bought out. And I’m worrying more, which impacts my weight.

lazylinguist · 30/04/2020 20:30

I've put on a little bit, but am definitely fitter. My dog walks are considerably longer than usual because I have plenty of time- I've really noticed I'm yomping up hills more easily. But I'm eating more.

aquashiv · 30/04/2020 20:37

Drinking more alcohol piles on the pounds. No gym. Nice treats loads of treats

lifeisgoodmostofthetime · 30/04/2020 23:08

Gained a round tummy. Still working but less active as there's no gym

Grandmi · 30/04/2020 23:15

Definitely gained but not weighed myself...really cannot face it 🙄I work as a registered nurse in a care home and the lovely relatives who cannot visit because of lockdown have been delivering the most amazing cakes, chocolates and biscuits!!
