Do these kinds of posts annoy anyone else? I just think to myself, have you contacted your friends? Surely it's a 2 way thing and you cant wait for people to contact you and if you havent heard from them then you havent tried either...

Newschapter · 25/04/2020 18:30

I hate it.

Now isn't the time to test friendships.

Thighmageddon · 25/04/2020 18:34

I came off fb a few weeks ago due to all this bollocks, just can't be bothered with this kind of crap.

And I don't really do friends either, me and dh are quite selfish and just tend to worry about each other Grin

careworkerandproud · 25/04/2020 22:50

Glad it's not just me. I didnt like it at the best of times but definitely not now X

Today I read "making lockdown memories" and my finger hovered over the "block" button.

Aargggh! I think it unlikely anyone is likely to forget anything about this time very easily.

Wiltinglillies · 25/04/2020 23:03

I unfollow anyone who posts these. Consequently, Facebook has become very quiet recently!

TrainspottingWelsh · 25/04/2020 23:07

U ok hun?

Fingers crossed me n hubz n the kidz can get a test 2day, really scared. (Obviously no symptoms or reason to suspect I need a test but just posting attention seeking shite for the hugz n pm me babe comments)

nikkylou · 25/04/2020 23:12

They're horrid. Up there with the 'if you don't come out of this with a new skill you lacked discipline not time' ones.

There seems so much about 'doing lockdown right'.

You must be miserable and not.have.any.fun.

But you also must make the most of this time, and learn a new skill, completely redecorate (without going out the house for anything or ordering it in), and clean from top to bottom.

You have to spend loads of money to keep everything afloat but you must also put away every penny you save from lower fuel / lunches / going out costs.

You know who your real friends are...? Well by that logic, the poster certainly wont be on anyone's friend list if they're not wanting to contact people without them getting in touch first.

Combined with the crappy, tag you friends challenges.... No I'm not gonna be coming out of quarantine pregnant because I was born in April. Nor be in prison by the end of the year. Or expecting twins...

ViciousJackdaw · 25/04/2020 23:12

Hope ur baby's r ok Trainspotting u got this mama xxx

CelestialSpanking · 25/04/2020 23:15

In my experience this type of shite is nearly always posted by people who don’t check in on others when they might be going through a rough time Hmm

Dieu · 25/04/2020 23:16

It is rather tacky and passive aggressive!

TrainspottingWelsh · 25/04/2020 23:27

@ViciousJackdaw I'd say yeah babe but 'will pm u' makes me sound cool and mysterious. screw the haterz, my real friends know who they are xxx

DianneWhatcock · 25/04/2020 23:29

It's horrible

WhoresDerves · 25/04/2020 23:33

Yanbu, i have unfollowed quite a few people who have been spamming their walls with this stuff, but the one that wound me up the most was the one a woman i know posted yesterday, it was a picture of an adorable baby (for context baby is black) with the tagline "i know you will not share because you are racist"

Midsommar · 25/04/2020 23:50

@TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross Today I read "making lockdown memories" and my finger hovered over the "block" button.

I think I can go one worse...someone on my FB created a photo album called "Lockdown 2020". An actual photo album. I nearly choked on my porridge. The block button had never looked so tempting!

Chickenpie9 · 25/04/2020 23:54

I had someone on mine make a Facebook photo album entitled Corona 2020 and now another one entitled Lockdown making memories . Just find it strange anyone would think we will ever forget any of this or want to be reminded of it .

edwardcullensotherwoman · 26/04/2020 00:17

I've seen loads of these, they're bloody awful. I've got 4 kids, just moved house and living on the edge of my nerves with anxiety again because if this bloody virus - so forgive me if I'm not spending hours checking on everyone in my friends list Hmm
It's enough to do to make sure me and mine are all ok!
Also these ones where you have to tag friends to be your "lockdown crew" etc. And the random "challenges"?!
The thing that bothers me the most though, is all the people going on about "home-school". It's not bloody home-school, you're doing some school work with your child. (That's the case for ours anyway, 15 tasks in 2 weeks for KS1). There's a big difference. It must drive full time home-schoolers mad!

scrappydappydoo · 26/04/2020 00:26

Ah my people! I seeing the return the ‘post a pic of yourself because women are great but only if I tag you and I’m only tagging people who I think will be up for it —so— —screw— —the— —rest— —of— —you—‘ and yes lockdown albums and homeschooling journeys - just get on with it and stop bleating on fb

scrappydappydoo · 26/04/2020 00:27

Ah and strike out did not work there...

MinorArcana · 26/04/2020 00:31

IME, the people who post this sort of “you know who your real friends are” memes are the people who tend to be the worst about getting in touch themselves.

JKScot4 · 26/04/2020 00:33

I prefer these type 🤣🤣
