And more so the almost bragging nature of it on social media? Feel like my Facebook / instagram is full of people showing their wine, beer, expression martinis! I get we are in a strange situation but can’t compute as to how for so many people that’s translated into drinking alcohol every day?? Or maybe it’s just my friends

I'm not surprised at all! I'm just jealous because I can't drink, and normally I don't miss it but I keep seeing the neighbours sat out with beers.. arghh! "Sweet sweet liquor eases the pain" (Homer Simpson circa 2000)
As long as people can reset and cut back when normality resumes I don't see the harm.

Well it’s not like a school night at the moment, so might as well have a drink.

YANBU, I’ve been really bad myself, need to knock it on the head. It’s not good

Why are you judging the small thing people can do to try and have fun? Yes we are all drinking more so what? It’s not forever.

Really OP???!!!

Has anyone ever spoken to you about your low level of emotional intelligence?

You really do not understand why people might be looking to a variety of crutches, such as food or alcohol at the moment? Confused

There will be so many people ending the summer as alcoholics. I get the reasons but I do cringe at the constant posts embracing it.

absolutequeen · 25/04/2020 15:04

Because they don't have to drive. Usually I can't have a drink because I have to drive late in the evening or early the next morning. I have to do neither of these things now.

Also, with a lot more people WFH or furloughed, those in jobs where alcohol and drug testing is mandatory can drink without worrying about random testing.

I'm drinking the same amount as normal.

The pubs are shut. 'Nuff said.
