Cats or dogs?

Are you a cat or dog person and why?
I love both but if I had to pick it would be cats as they usually smell less

Dogs. Unconditional love and also they don't do that thing where they sit on your lap and dig their claws in

Dogs. All the cat people claiming they don't smell are in denial. They don't smell the same as dogs, but they do smell.

Definitely cats. Best analogy I heard was dogs are like toddlers around you feet needing walking etc
Where as cats are like teenagers, only come home for food or sleep.

Cats. Our dog would go to the moon and back to please us Cat couldn’t care less 😁

Cats. So low maintenance. I can go to work and even stay out for the night and know they will be fine with a full food bowl (in fact probably happier because they can sit on my stop on the sofa).

They can also safely avoid the toddler without too much intervention.

I like cats, but I love dogs.

Neither - I like both but having previously had a dog I realise I'm just not cut out to be a pet owner. The smell, the hair everywhere! The poop!
And even disregarding all that I begrudged paying for kennels (and putting them in kennels) when we wanted to go on holiday

Cats. I really hate dogs. I won't go to a beach which doesn't have a dog ban.

Dogs. They love you unconditionally. I’ve had rubbish cats in the past who have put me off for life - they bring fleas in and crap in the house. My dog makes me happy.

Cats for me. Cats suit me better - we live alongside happily and don't bother each other too much, all I have to do is feed them and clean their litter tray. They are happy on their own all day long too - and before the lockdown we were rarely home, only at weekends really!

Dogs scare me. I would never trust a dog around a child, they smell (dogs that is, not children!), they are too needy, I would never, ever be able to deal with the whole picking up poo thing, and I just don't like them.

Definitely cats. I couldn't be without mine and they are so loving and cuddly. One of mine brings me flowers from the magnolia tree every morning and comes under the bed covers. They are a real stress buster for me. I don't mind dogs but some of them make me nervous and I agree that they sometimes smell. I do think some of them are gorgeous though and appreciate why they are so popular.
