To think I shouldn't be named and shamed for not clapping

I clapped originally and it was lovely and everyone turned out for it here
Last week, after a rough night with DS I fell asleep after he went down and missed the clapping
A post went on our community Facebook group actually naming and shaming me.
I was mortified. The post said everyone else turned out and I showed the street up and if I can't spend a minute showing my appreciation I don't deserve to use the NHS if I or my family get ill
I ignored it at the time but I can't get it out of my head it's really upset me.

Our death rate is horrendous and they aren’t letting sick people go to
Hospital !!

I just can’t believe I am reading this - adults bullying other adults for not clapping? Who the hell do these people think they are?
It drives me mad to think that someone may not have clapped because they are on the phone to a relative in distress due to loneliness, comforting their child who has additional needs, has spent the whole day sewing PPE and fell asleep, the list goes on. And then you get some snooty, prissy arsehole publicly shaming someone for daring to not join in with.....clapping. This is not right and surely a form of harassment

I don't clap either. Despite my daughter being a nurse. It's pointless, and has just become a meaningless charade that's about the clappers, not the NHS.

If any of my neighbours named and shamed me I'd struggle not to give it back with both barrels.

Clapping doesn't magic PPE or finds out of thin air. Your unavailability for clapping will not be detrimental to the NHS and its staff. Busybody neighbour can fuck off.

The weekly clapping thing feels a bit false to me. Some people can’t do it , eg small children. No one should have to explain themselves. What kind of neighbourhood is this??
I’m sure lots of people are worried about food and jobs. Being told to put rainbows in a window, clap and stand 2 m apart in Tesco is frankly bizarre beyond words.

OP, I realise that I'm probably not the most rational person to be asking advice of but personally I'd be sneaking out in the dead of night to daub a large phallus on her front door. Just to remind everyone what sort of person lives there.

We’ve become brainwashed. We must all be anti social. Treat everyone like they’re infected. Stand 2 metres apart. Clap outside our doors every Thursday. Put pictures of rainbows in our living room window. Obey the masters on the tv.

Sorry to hear that OP. It's shameful behaviour (theirs not yours). I clap most weeks, but I fell asleep last week with DC and didn't give it a second thought the next day. Similarly, I wouldn't give it a second thought if a neighbour didn't clap when I did! Some people (NHS included) find it cringy, some find it nice.
I bet the neighbour who shamed you didn't have young kids right?! I wonder if they'd be happy to clap at five in the morning which might be a more convenient time for people with young kids! Dicks.

I quite believe some patients are left in their own urine. I've witnessed good nurses and those who are indeed too interested in the gossip with their colleagues than the job they are supposed to be doing.

I witnessed it all too many times @lilqueenie,was devastating everytime.
