Were being made yesterday in cars and on motorcycles with extremely loud exhausts blasting around at full tilt. Perhaps it was the absence of other traffic, but it does seem as if some bellends are using it as an excuse to roar around in their fucking noisy bellend-mobiles

Doodleygirl on page 1, has it spot on!!
Completely agree.

TheGreatWave · 22/04/2020 09:10

No doodleygirl hasn't got it spot on.

The sound of dirt bikes whilst sat in your garden is awful, thankfully less now then where I used to live where it was absolutely constant. It is a dreadful sound and there is no getting away from it as it comes in and out of hearing range.

And the rubbish, aggressive drivers, well I experience them when going to the supermarket, the quieter roads are just an open encouragement.

Strange how any observation is curtain twitching nowadays.

PippaPegg · 22/04/2020 09:12

A couple of arsewits are using our road as a racetrack too. Selfish idiotic twats.

leafygarden · 22/04/2020 09:14

Stop twitching and focus on your own life. This lockdown is bringing out the very worst in some people. OP if you are bored do something to help someone.

That

And stop being so precious.

Shockers · 22/04/2020 09:49

I live about 2 miles west of the M6- the traffic was deafening at 1:30 this morning when I went out to the garden to look at the stars. I imagine a lot of it is delivery vehicles working through the night. It’s still loud this morning, although the birds are trying their best to drown it out.

TheGreatWave · 22/04/2020 10:06

I'll stop being precious when these bell ends stop trying to drive me off the road. How in any shape or form is it acceptable to be driving up my arse because I have the audacity to be driving at 30mph?

ConstanceSalinger · 22/04/2020 10:54

It is being precious. You can only control your actions, not those of other people. Focus on your own wellbeing and let the people not driving silent electric cars to their own business.

If you're really bothered, after lockdown get involved in a community traffic team to highlight likely spots for speed reduction tactics, or speak to local council about promoting environmentally friendly driving, such as turning off idling cars and reducing noise and traffic pollution.

bemusedmoose · 22/04/2020 10:59

I think you live in my area because this is exactly what I was thinking yesterday!

The regular motor bikes and cars you can hardly hear but more recently there has been an influx of knob-mobiles. You know the sort, the stupid exhausts that sound like a back firing jet, the loud chuffing every time they change gear (about ever 2 seconds!) the wheel screeching, the bikes that sound like they have nitro tanks fitted to a lawn mower.

We had stayed late at the allotment last night (kids are growing our food and before anyone says - it's still allowed!) to catch the satellites - about 9pm and the knob-mobiles were out in force doing insane speeds. They are using the empty streets and a knob off.

JellyfishandShells · 22/04/2020 11:52

The increase in speeding is a featured article on the BBC news website this morning , so it’s hardly a few over sensitive MN souls whining about a non existent problem www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-52370352

MonkeyToesOfDoom · 22/04/2020 11:53

Focus on your own wellbeing

And how does one do that when outside forces are impacting ones own well being?

If your neighbour began playing death metal at full volume 24/7 would you moan or focus on your own well being?

Susan1961 · 22/04/2020 12:53

Different subject but as a domiciliary care worker, I'm finding the lack of traffic is bliss, I'm dreading the return of back to normal stressful traffic.

ConstanceSalinger · 22/04/2020 12:54

would you moan or focus on your own well being?

I'd be following the established steps to deal with the problem in terms of logging and reporting and then yes, I'd focus on what I could do, white noise, headphones, even approaching my neighbour to see what could be done. Your comparison doesn't work though. I'm stuck next to the neighbours until one of us moves. That's a completely different topic to this one. The OP is complaining about a car driving past. If they're going so fast then they won't be outside for long and the police will eventually catch up with them.

Susan1961 · 22/04/2020 12:55

Silly question but is the very bright 🌟 every evening the satellite?

SueEllenMishke · 22/04/2020 12:56

Isn't it venus?

Mrsmorton · 22/04/2020 15:20

Venus

Harls1969 · 22/04/2020 17:14

We've noticed lots of people taking advantage of the quiet roads and thinking they're on a race track!

Hingeandbracket · 16/05/2020 18:12

Well the noisy bellends and cockwombles are out in force around here today.

I have been out in the otherwise quiet and peaceful garden, and every 5-15 mins there's brrrrrrrrapppp!!!!! bang bang bang bang, brrrraaaappp!!! noisy cunts.

OP posts:
P1nkHeartLovesCake · 16/05/2020 18:16

Well people have been told to avoid public transport so of course car, motorbike use goes up 🤷🏻‍♀️

People can drive for exercise, in England you can go for as much exercise as you like

People can go the shop

People can go to work

Hingeandbracket · 16/05/2020 18:22

There isn't much traffic - it's just that what there is is being driven by monumental weapons-grade knob heads.

OP posts:
EvilPea · 16/05/2020 18:27

It’s optimum weather to get your toys out and give them a run. Doesn’t mean you have to do your essential drive in your shit car over your nice one. I know some people have been doing the voluntary drop offs in classics, something to cheer some of the old boys up.

Admittedly some of the driving has been truly questionable, but it’s been all sorts of cars driving like twats round here.

Hingeandbracket · 16/05/2020 18:30

These aren't classics, they are relatively recent wankermobiles, mostly badly modified but the main thing is they are being driven as if Boris actually announced it was nationwide trackday from now on.

OP posts:
Winterwoollies · 16/05/2020 19:01

🙄

EvilPea · 16/05/2020 20:40

You can only take shit cars to the shops.
You can’t have your roof down if it’s convertible . And heaven forbid you listen to the radio, or enjoy your drive.

The driving like a twat clearly not acceptable. But taking your fun car out and enjoying it, cannot see the issue. Perfect weather, perfect roads for it
