AIBU or is SIL being a bit of a CF?

I’ll start by saying that we have had a very poorly DD over the last few days, which has resulted in very little sleep and therefore I’m quite prepared to be told IABU.

We (DH,DD and I) have been self isolating since the start of lockdown on the advice of the government letter I received as I have a prexisiting health condition.

We have a recurring food shop slot which has become invaluable to us. As we have also been shopping for DFIL and DMIL as they are also isolating. In this weeks list from them there was a very specific brand, size and scent of shampoo and conditioner they have said is for SIL.

For context SIL is not isolating, and lives in a village with a good sized local shop, and about a 5 minute drive from at least 2 large supermarkets. She also lives about 15 miles from DMIL and DFIL and therefore would have to make a much longer journey to collect these. (We are another 15 miles away from IL in a different direction)

AIBU to think that SIL is being a bit of CF?

Is she being cheeky? Maybe depends on?
A) did she ask or did ILS offers?
B) does she know you have an 80 item limit to my knowledge only Tesco's have introduced that if she doesn't know who you shop with she may not know you are limited
C) does she intend to pay you?

It's all a bit irrelevant though ultimately you have do decide, do you have enough room In Your shop for her luxury items. If you don't it's simple tell in-laws the shop is limited and you don't have room for luxury items! If you do have room then make it clear you need payment for those items in advance if they are in stock.

You can debate till you are blue in the face if SIL is being cheeky or not but unless you have all the facts you won't know and even if you do it's irrelevant you are either able to order them or you are not!

I wouldn't begrudge her the shampoo. You're doing an order anyway. I don't see why it would be any skin off your nose to add the shampoo to the shopping.

I would order it for her and leave it on the doorstep for her to collect.

Why would you be complicit in her breaking the Health Protection Regulations and increasing risk?

Because of the 80 item limit and the fact she's trying to get a freebie? That's a cheeky fucker trying it on. She's capable of buying her own testing shampoo.

I wonder how many people on this thread, who are saying just #bekind are on the shielding list and therefore totally dependent on deliveries or the kindness of others.
