Just a lighthearted post to change the subject from all things Corona!

I love watching cookery shows on a saturday morning and make a lot of Nadiya's recipes. Absolutely love her!

She was making a breakfast dish I was admiring and thinking of making tomorrow morning, and then I saw it. ODD SOCKS. The OCD in me came out and made me wonder, is this a thing people do intentionally? I mean she knew she was recording a show in her socks, probably didnt anticipate the camera pan down to her feet though!

Seriously it would drive me insane knowing I had odd socks, holely socks or seeing my kids or OH with them!!! As soon as one goes missing in the wash load, I give it a few days to turn up or it is banished !

Vote Yes if you are happy with odd socks or no if you're like me and think it's a no-go!

One and Twenty

You need to give your hard a wobble. Seriously.

I take it you don't suffer from OCD or have it as you wouldn't be making such offensive and ignorant comments if you did.

As mentioned up thread. I have severe diagnosed OCD. It's fucking horrendous and so incredibly debilitating.

It affects me all day every day .

So please, jog on with your offensive comments.

AnnUumellemahaye · 18/04/2020 12:43

Probably some stylist's idea of making her down with the kids. Don't let it ruin your day.

Jollypolly999 · 18/04/2020 12:45

Not that it is anyone's business, I actually do suffer with OCD. So those calling it offensive or whatever, dont comment! Move on, enjoy life rather than sit here and make snide comments like your so fucking entitled and righteous hat others csnt use the term on a public forum. I can say what I like and I use OCD because I want not because YOU, someone I dont know at all, has a problem and commented on MY post with your issue.

OP posts:
Jollypolly999 · 18/04/2020 12:47

@AnnUumellemahaye yeh totally that is me...because you know me and my life.

Fuck sakes it was a lighthearted post and put come the bored mumsnet brigade in force!

Candyfloss99 · 18/04/2020 12:47

You need to research what life is like for people with OCD and then you might not use the term so flippantly.

No we don't know you and quite frankly with your attitude, I certainly wouldn't want to know you either..

Equally, you don't know us and clearly by your post have no care for comments you make that may be deemed offensive by others ..

If you do indeed suffer from OCD then you would indeed know and also what an absolute bastard it is. It's absolutely horrendous and I personally would not wish it on my worst enemy. You would also understand and realise that your post is offensive.

Gwenhwyfar · 18/04/2020 12:52

"Hahah love the idea of only black socks!!!"

This is what I do, but they fade to different shades so they don't all match after a while. Some will be a dark grey, others a bit more of a dark blue.

ShinyMe · 18/04/2020 12:52

For those who like the United Oddsocks, they also make gloves! I have some awesome elbow length fingerless gloves with rainbow lightning on them. I feel like a superhero when I wear them.

Jollypolly999 · 18/04/2020 12:52

Anyway I'm out got better things to do then fight the mumsnet bridage that have nothing better to do than scould people for breathing these days.

To those who actually took this as what it was intended to be, A LIGHTHEARTED DEBATE, it looks as though non-matching socks has won!!!!

To those who had to jump on me, I think I've made my position clear to you all...dont need to say it again.

Peace out peeps!!!

koshkatt · 18/04/2020 12:53

Jolly if you did have OCD you would know that it is fuck all to do with odd fucking socks.
And as the poster above points out, you would understand how offensive your post is.

Jollypolly999 · 18/04/2020 12:56

@MegUffin sorry was you expecting me to say something that agreed with you because on mumsnet if you dont agree with the consensus you're automatically evil, bitch, scum of the earth for having a different opinion. If thays the case, I am glad I have a brain of my own that and I am happy to say Fuck you to those who BULLY me.

I have an attitude when people jump on something actually that was innocently used and make it into something, then BULLY. Yes bully, you're trolls. Stuck up on your high horses trolls.

Goodbye!!!!

Candyfloss99 · 18/04/2020 12:56

Peace out peeps.

And you've made horrible aggressive responses? You feel sorry for my kids??

P1nkHeartLovesCake · 18/04/2020 12:58

Well this thread didn’t go how I expected. Lockdown really is taking its toll on some of you clearly, I mean this is a thread about socks ffs

MegUffin · 18/04/2020 12:58

Jollypolly

Are you for real?

I've reported you . Your posts are nasty and completely unnecessary.

Think you might need a lie down dear.

WorraLiberty · 18/04/2020 13:01

OP, if you do actually suffer from a mental illness, it kind of makes the voting a bit pointless doesn't it?

Geminijes · 18/04/2020 13:04

Why do people choose to be offended by terminology the OP used?

If they don't like it, then just scroll on past it. You can only be offended if you choose to be.

koshkatt · 18/04/2020 13:08

Jeez. Hmm

AnnUumellemahaye · 18/04/2020 13:08

Fuck you to those who BULLY me.

Whoah!!! Back up there, horsey.

MamaCoco123 · 18/04/2020 13:09

I always wear odd socks! I try to make sure they're similar though. Eg I wouldn't wear one trainer sock with one longer sock because it would feel strange. But any odd trainer socks would be fine!

My mum and dad are always going on about odd socks if me or my sister go round to theirs and take our shoes off but I just dont know how people can get wound up by it.

VeganCow · 18/04/2020 13:09

Came on here to read about odd socks which I do like, I actually cannot believe that instead its people kicking off about someone's 'misuse' of the term OCD. Does it matter really?
Its always been used in a lighthearted way so why all of a sudden are people taking it to heart. It seems like you really can't say anything at the moment without somone having a coronary...oh dear will someone jump on me now for saying that. Ok, having a fit. Wait, same again. I'll shut up..

justlonelystars · 18/04/2020 13:11

When I was younger (probably 14 - 20 or so) I used to deliberately wear odd socks. I don’t know why, I probably thought I was being quirky. It used to drive me mad when my mum went through my sock drawer and paired up my odd socks that I had deliberately paired up oddly but to match in their oddness if that makes sense.
Now I’m older I tend to wear matching socks but if I know no one of consequence is going to see my socks, I don’t mind if I accidentally have odd socks on. I make the effort to wear matching socks if I’m visiting someone’s house and I know I’ll have my shoes off.

BlackForestCake · 18/04/2020 13:13

Currently wearing a pair of odd socks - which were bought as such. I like wearing odd socks that are meant to be odd rather than just random odd socks.

What's the difference?

sobeyondthehills · 18/04/2020 13:14

Does it matter really?

Yes it does matter to those that suffer from it, there is so many misconception about mental illness, including OCD, its a horrible thing to have to deal with and people using these type of terms are minimising it for those who actually have it.
