Saw this workout online, posted by a super fit fitness model. Didn't believe it could be done in her mind boggling time of 18 minutes. DH and I gave it a try. Granted we nearly died but managed it in 23 minutes. I'm feeling pretty proud of myself given I'm 15 years more senior than said fitness model - anyone else fancy trying it?

Just baked a cake if anyone fancies a slice. Tried putting the workout into google translate - still none the wiser. I’ll stick with perving at Joes v nice V shaped torso

ahahahahahahahaha

OP, I think you are vastly overestimating average fitness levels.

I am mildly overweight (BMI about 25.2) though according to the machine in the gym I have Fit Normal Person's level of body fat. I'm very rarely ill. My blood pressure is usually 110/70 and my resting heart rate around 57 (once measured at 48). My normal walking pace is 4 miles an hour, which I can keep up all day so long as there aren't too many hills. My husband and I managed to do the picnic table challenge (and I was the one with my feet on the floor) despite being tipsy at the time.

However.

After three squats, my knees start complaining (there's nothing wrong with them, they just don't like being the primary worker). I've only just (after eight years) managed to persuade my body that it does know how to do a crunch. A crunch, note. My press-ups are both slow and cut short - the only way I can get right down to floor position is to do the knees version. Anything involving both feet off the floor at the same time is really hard work - I "run" at 8kph and haven't yet felt able to increase to more than 4k; bouncing takes it out of me, star jump capacity is limited and you don't want to see me attempt a tuck jump. As for burpees (bloody stupid name, seriously), I have never managed to do more than a couple, really slowly.

I get that you're excited about a new challenge, I really do. I think you'd have been much better posting this in the fitness section where more of the people who could join you in it would be likely to see it. AIBU with no hint of the topic in the title has given you a lot of people who really aren't your target audience.

Burpees and orthostatic hypotension go together like gravy and ice cream. Strawberries on steak. A cup of tea but instead of milk put crisps in it.

Isobored · 20/04/2020 00:54

I've found my next one to try
20 burpees
Run 400m
19 burpees
Run 400m
Repeat until you get down to 1 burpee
8km run
210 burpees total ....
granted this was posted by one of the guys from SAS who dares wins. So there is a high chance of death ! Lol

Oooh @Isobored that last one looks nasty. You're a kindred spirit - I love a painful workout Grin

21:30 for me - a bit ab heavy for me so heart rate didn't get particularly high but it was still fun.

Isobored · 20/04/2020 09:12

Well
Done @Panticus !!!! That's an amazing time / I spent far too much time laying on my belly mid burpee - think I can get it quicker if I sharpen up my transitions 😃

@OmgThereAreNoPlanesAboveMeNow Exactly this.

Ok so I finally had a go at this but I had to make some modifications.... I do HIIT so I’m not used to counting reps. 100 of anything is a LOT but I’m definitely feeling those squats now.

  • I only did the first two sets of burpees and the last. So only 30 total instead of 100z
  • I had to split the lunges as I couldn’t get past 35 the first time round. So I did the other half at the end.
  • plank to elbow I only managed 25.

So with that I did 19 minutes 17 seconds. My form was fine. I consider myself pretty fit, I do HIIT 6-7 times a week normally but only manage probably 4 home workouts a week while the gym is closed. That was hard! I feel like I really pushed myself, I don’t see how it’s achievable to finish it properly for most people

Well done @Panther1982 !!!
