A chicken wrap with all the different gorgeous salads (no mayo coleslaw with ginger, roasted sweet potato, broccoli and feta) from the little place near my work. It sounds so tiresomely healthy but it's huge and zingy and gorgeous and I miss them.

Shockers · 15/04/2020 17:21

@FabulouslyFab- I bought DH a weekend there for Christmas once. We went in between Christmas and new year and it snowed- it was wonderful!

PawPawNoodle · 15/04/2020 17:21

Intimate corner booth table for me and Mr. Noodle at Hawksmoor, bottle of malbec for the table as well as a couple of Harvey Wallbanger Jrs, of course a jug of water.

Half lobster each to start, then we'll have the 1kg Porterhouse steak to share, medium rare please. Buttered greens, mash, chips, mac and cheese and broccoli to share.

I'll be too full for dessert but I will look at the menu for a bit and eventually order some gourmet rolos.

Yes of course I'll be leaving a nice big tip, too.

BadBear · 15/04/2020 17:21

A big slice of Polish apple pie from the bakery down the road which is currently shut. This apple pie is THE BEST apple pie I have ever eaten.

Vebrithien · 15/04/2020 17:22

Onion Baji wrap, with mango chutney, a cup of chai and a vege samosa to go, and a sit down on the river bank, watching the world go by.

Or, battered halloumi and chips, sat on the quayside, listening to the ropes tapping against masts of the sail boats.

Proper pizza and courgette fries from a local Italian restaurant.

Further afield, tapas on the beach front, in Costa Dorado. We managed it last summer, and the memory has become my 'happy place' recently.

Nitpickpicnic · 15/04/2020 17:25

Anything I don’t have to cook myself would be pretty exciting.

Oh, and it’d be a spontaneous choice, to make up for all the endless planning ahead. Something extravagant, requiring proper professional kitchen kit and expertise to make. Eaten at a big table, crammed with friends. Everyone sharing bites of food, jostling happily for the best bits.

Proper Yum Cha lunch over 2 hours would do the trick I suspect!

Sigh.

caperplips · 15/04/2020 17:36

@polpotnoodle - yours wins for me - can I come along too?? Sounds PERFECT

HalfTermHalfTerm · 15/04/2020 17:43

Nando’s! Hot veggie burger (the butternut squash one), with avocado and peri sweet potato wedges and corn on the cob on the side. Probably one of the pitta strips with a dip starters as well, but I might agree to share that...

I also really fancy a chinese, but our local one is closed at the moment even though it stayed open after lockdown was announced. I’m hopeful it’s just a precaution and not because they’re sick Sad

MinnieMountain · 15/04/2020 17:51

@PolPotNoodle my DF who lives near the sea is now getting a lobster delivered every week by the fisherman who can no longer sell to pubs Envy

But mine would really be fish and chips from our local chippy.

MrsMonkeyBear · 15/04/2020 17:51

From my favourite Indian restaurant

Chicken Rogan Josh or Bhuna
Garlic Naan

From my favourite Sushi Place

Chicken Gyoza

From my favourite Chinese

Mama1980 · 15/04/2020 17:56

Chinese - black bean tofu, veggie spring rolls, sweet and sour bamboo shoots, seaweed, egg fried rice.

Or Wagamama, vegetable gyoza, garlic fried greens, vegan ramen, fruit juice, green tea and cheesecake.

I'm hungry!

cricketballs3 · 15/04/2020 17:57

Steak and kidney pie, chips and gravy from the local chippy - then next day get dressed up to the nines and go to a fantastic Italian whose Madeira sauce is to die for

timeforawine · 15/04/2020 18:01

Chicken hanging kebab with sweet chilli fries followed by a chocolate brownie and marshmallow hanging kebab from The Botanist :-)

PositiveLife · 15/04/2020 18:02

Wagamamas - bang bang cauliflower, teriyaki chicken Don buri, salted caramel cheesecake. Love Wagamamas cos the kids both like it Grin

dyscalculicgal96 · 15/04/2020 18:03

I love Chinese food. There is a lovely takeout place and restaurant within walking distance.

This is what I will order:

Egg fried rice
Spring rolls
Peking duck
Dim sum

Flixsfoilball · 15/04/2020 18:04

I fancied a Chinese takeaway the weekend before lockdown, but both our decent local ones had already shut down - I would currently sell my OH for either of them to be open and deliver...

BiteyShark · 15/04/2020 18:04

Steak and chips with a side of onion rings and a big glass of wine from the pub salivating at the thought

Tiredmumssquad · 15/04/2020 18:07

Nottherealslimshady · 15/04/2020 18:08
