The number of people using it has barely gone up over the last week, and anecdotally it sounds like lots of people don't even know it exists.

The more people that use it, the more we'll understand how well lockdown is working.

Please will you download it and report every day, even if (especially if!) you're feeling well?

Thank you!

It's here:covid.joinzoe.com/

No, sorry. I don’t want to be remotely tracked.

VitreousHumour · 15/04/2020 11:17

Even if it improves the outcome for everyone?

OP posts:
dancemom · 15/04/2020 11:17

I'm using it.

WindFlower92 · 15/04/2020 11:18

Agree OP, it's not tracking you, just a simple question of how you're feeling that day, no more!

GoFiguire · 15/04/2020 11:18

Will you burgle my house when I’m out?

StrawberryJam200 · 15/04/2020 11:18

It doesn’t remotely track you personally, just counts the numbers reporting symptoms in each area!

MrsFezziwig · 15/04/2020 11:20

No, sorry. I don’t want to be remotely tracked.

What, to your home? Confused Obviously when you feel it’s appropriate or circumstances change it can be deleted.

Wunderweb · 15/04/2020 11:20

I’ve been using it for a couple of weeks. The results published recently were really interesting

koshkatt · 15/04/2020 11:21

Is that the one that asks about what sex you were 'assigned at birth'? I have no faith in something so lacking in scientific rigour.

JasonPollack · 15/04/2020 11:22

Is this the contact tracing one that is the government wished to deanonymise at will?

Yeah, no thanks.

Unshriven · 15/04/2020 11:23

No, because I think it's opening the door to a passive acceptance of data gathering/sharing by various agencies once the corona thing is long forgotten.

WoeIsMee · 15/04/2020 11:24

Except that is IS tracking you

AngryRedhead · 15/04/2020 11:24

I’m not sure if I should use it. I have a preexisting condition that means I have some of the C19 symptoms every day anyway (going back before the virus started) and I’m worried about giving a false reading?

LaLoba · 15/04/2020 11:27

Same here. Given that those most at risk of life threatening complications are male and overweight, this is no time to ignore reality. My husband and I were both planning to “do our bit” and use it, despite one of us being fatigued and the other overworked, but deleted the app when we realised it employed magical thinking.

DoubleHelix79 · 15/04/2020 11:28

Having more and better data is incredibly important for understanding the virus and how it spreads. Thanks for reminding me to sign up.

SoupDragon · 15/04/2020 11:30

Surely phrasing it that way ensures they get a person's biological sex though, rather than what a person has chosen to live as.

insancerre · 15/04/2020 11:31

No thanks
I don’t want big brother tracking my movements
I don’t trust this government and I’m concerned about the potential for this app to be used to track peoples movements and I’m not happy they can keep any of my data safe

edwinbear · 15/04/2020 11:33

I'm not going to be tracked either, if people want to use it that's absolutely their prerogative, but as I understand, its optional, so I won't be.

ghostmous3 · 15/04/2020 11:34

I think I may have already had covid 19 but I'll never know for sure

No point now me using it

koshkatt · 15/04/2020 11:35

Soupdragon using the phrase at all is hughly dubious. Science is not about magic feelz and they should not be pandered to.

HRH2020 · 15/04/2020 11:36

I used it
I don't give a shit if the government know where I am or not 🤷‍♀️

PlanDeRaccordement · 15/04/2020 11:36

It’s not necessary to understand how well lockdown is working. Number of hospital admissions, deaths are sufficient information to see how well lockdown works.

No, this is to track you and see if you are obeying the State.

VitreousHumour · 15/04/2020 11:37

How the question is phrased makes no difference to the data gathered - unless you choose to let it do so by refusing to participate, for the greater good, on principle. In which case, sheesh.

OP posts:
BeefyQueef · 15/04/2020 11:37

Absolutely not - we've become enough a police state as it is.

koshkatt · 15/04/2020 11:37

Plus there are actually people out there who believe in the female penis so they would state that they were female anyway! Why pander to the 1% of flat earthers?
Also, people who do not have English as a first language may get very confised by this ludicrous question.
They were pressured by TRAs and they caved. Pathetic.
It's a no from me.
