The number of people using it has barely gone up over the last week, and anecdotally it sounds like lots of people don't even know it exists.

The more people that use it, the more we'll understand how well lockdown is working.

Please will you download it and report every day, even if (especially if!) you're feeling well?

Thank you!

It's here:covid.joinzoe.com/

I've started using it, apart from your postcode, sex & age on first use, it asks how you're feeling that day - not exactly "tracking your movements" Confused

dementedpixie · 15/04/2020 12:05

And it does remind me daily to track my symptoms

ActuallyItsEugene · 15/04/2020 12:11

I definitely won't be using it. I don't trust the government to use or handle my data correctly, for the right reasons.
I'm also really uncomfortable with the idea of 'checking in' with the government daily.

No. It will be about as accurate as a map upside down. People can be arseholes and false report just for the hell of it. How skewed is the data going to be then. It's the nature of collecting uncontrolled data.

I'd completely forget anyway. I don't get up each day and ask myself "how do I feel today?" anyway.

dementedpixie · 15/04/2020 12:22

It's not the Government you're checking in with. It's not them collecting the info

RuthW · 15/04/2020 12:22

I was doing it. Found it incredibly slow and I really don't have time to mess around. I'm busier than usual working and looking after vulnerable patents and partner.

Summerisdone · 15/04/2020 12:26

Thanks for this, I've been meaning to look up the name and download it but I've been forgetting for days, so you've reminded me and now I've got it.
Also, for those that are worried about being tracked and watched, do you not think the government, phone companies and whoever else you think may want to track you can't do that anyway 🤔.

I bet a lot who are worried about being tracked are also sat at home with Alexa's or equivalent, or have Facebook app on their devices, and don't tell me Facebook isn't listening when I've far too often had ads pop up within a few hours of discussing a certain product or store with another person (not even searching it on phone, just talking about it).

TeaSoakedDisasterMagnet · 15/04/2020 12:29

It depends which symptom tracker you mean? There are several.

dementedpixie · 15/04/2020 12:31

I use this one

They changed sex to assigned at birth which makes me immediately question their scientific integrity.

That data privacy notice is seriously lacking. The NHS stopped relying on trial subject consents for data processing some time ago and I’m surprised they rely on it for this.
