Before Christmas me and my children's dad had discussed buying them an outdoor climbing frame with swing slide etc for the summer. MIL was there at the time and said the kids would love it. About a month later SIL gets one for her kids (my kids hadn't at this point) not an issue the kids go to each others houses to play so they can play on each others once we had one. I found one and me DC Dad brought it, put it all together and that weekend my daughter was due to stay with MIL. I dropped her off and she had asked what we had been up to that day. I said we had been putting together the kids outdoor thing, had a 10 minute chat then I left. I had only pulled away from her house 90 seconds at the most when I had a text message on my phone reading 'she's gone now, don't forget the rice your not going to be happy when you get here' this message was obviously intended for the SIL who lives next door to MIL.

I immediatley was angry because my initial thought was she is going to now be talking about me for buying my kids something similar but in no means the EXACT same.
I sent a message that it was out of order and that I won't let my kids be apart of a family like them, then blocked MIL and SIL number.
Aibu to of cut contact now with them both for me and my kids regardless of what there dad says.

OP it is now April. What has happened since Christmas? Did your DC stay over at MIL's? Have they been staying there ever since seeing as you have cut contact? Are they still there now in lockdown? Did anyone ever get any more rice before the supermarkets ran out? So many questions....

I think youd be doing your MIL & SIL a massive favour by staying NC with them because seriously if your text messages are anything like your posts theyll be glad of the break.

So MIL overheard you and her son talking about buying your children a climbing frame. About a month later SIL bought one for her children and now MIL and SIL are mad because you bought the one you talked about buying months ago? Why would MIL and SIL care if you had bought the same climbing frame especially as you say all the children play at each other's houses and will be using each other's climbing frames.

What kind of curry was it?

Is this today? If yes, why are your kids not following lockdown?
If not it must have been weeks ago?! In which case I’d say you should have sorted the issue out then.

You've got to admire the MIL's quick thinking, she came up with a cover story and faked a curry incident within 10 minutes, you can't fault that. Not only that but she also knew that you would assume the cryptic text was about the climbing frame, a formidable opponent indeed.

OP you must get a thicker skin. I agree with the others that you were very dramatic. Who gives a shit if SIL would have been annoyed about the climbing frame? Buy what the fuck you like.

Please re word that. Neither your first post, nor the second post made ANY sense whatsoever, it looks like a whole jumbled word mess about rice being dropped on a swing set or something? And a message from someone to someone (I could not work out who was the sender, who was the receiver) about dropped rice. Or dropped curry on a swing set. Or you are upset that someone else is upset about dropped rice or dropped curry, in the kitchen and not near the swing set? None of your posts have made any sense. Btw, it is must HAVE, not of [yes, sorry about being pedant].
