Are you still letting your DC play out with neighbours kids?

Are you still letting your kids play out with neighbours kids? Seems to be in my neighbourhood the kids are carrying on as normal, and out on the streets together. Mine are home as I won’t allow it.

There are normally a few kids playing out round my way (not nearly as many as when mine were that age 20 odd years ago)
But none, thankfully, at the moment.

Darbs76 · 14/04/2020 15:39

Absolutely not.

Bathonian2020 · 14/04/2020 15:41

All the kids in my square are playing out as normal (about 15 I total of various ages). Obviously I missed the memo which said there would be no coronavirus in our square!

chocolatesaltyballs22 · 14/04/2020 15:42

I've just sat in my garden seething from hearing the neighbours (whose kids were riding bikes up and down the street and screeching loudly) saying 'oh it's ok they can go out in and about now as they've had Covid' - ok so you know that because they tested positive do you??!

I also feel like this encourages everyone else in the street with kids to go 'oh what the hell' and chuck their kids outside as well!

thesedaysarescary · 14/04/2020 15:42

No of course not

Singlebutmarried · 14/04/2020 15:43

Nope. DD has been talking to her friend over the fence and FaceTime ing/ zooming/ calling ‘ robloxing others.

SallyWD · 14/04/2020 15:43

Of course not

Elderflower14 · 14/04/2020 15:45

None here... Cant believe the parents are putting their families and other people at risk!

No - no one should be with anyone who doesn’t live in their household. Especially children and teenagers as a) they are often asymptomatic and b) they don’t understand social distancing!

cushioncovers · 14/04/2020 15:46

Are you letting your dc play with others op?

No, and no one else is in the neighbour either, just to reassure people!

Smileyaxolotl1 · 14/04/2020 15:48

Yanbu- not seen any kids playing together round here at all.
You are very unlucky to live in an area with so many idiots.

BuggerOffAndGoodDayToYou · 14/04/2020 15:48

My “children” are no longer children but if they were they would not be mixing with anyone outside our household! I haven’t seen my daughter since this all started because she is not a member of this household. People ignoring rules are the ones prolonging the situation and risking tougher rules being brought in.

LEELULUMPKIN · 14/04/2020 15:49

No. I too live on an estate and the only kids I have seen have been those taking their daily exercise with their parents/carers. No "playing out" whatsoever. They are all being fantastic.

rjebgf · 14/04/2020 15:49

no - idiotic thing to do

Ivebeentohellanditscalledikea · 14/04/2020 15:49

No but there are big groups of teenagers hanging round near here. There are usually loads of kids playing round here but everyones being really good.

Actionhasmagic · 14/04/2020 15:49

People are really that dumb huh?

funmummy48 · 14/04/2020 15:50

There are no children playing out or mixing in gardens where I am. It's very quiet.

RedToothBrush · 14/04/2020 15:50

No because I'm not a fuckwit.

chomalungma · 14/04/2020 15:50

I see children doing this where I live

I strongly suspect no one is going to admit they let their children hang out outside with their friends.

JustOneSquareofDarkChocolate · 14/04/2020 15:51

Oh my god, no of course not. It makes closing schools absolutely pointless.

Where are you living?! I can't get excited about people going for two walks a day or "abusing" delivery slots but this would make me take action and actually fill out one of these:

RedToothBrush · 14/04/2020 15:51

I know a couple of neighbours who are and a friend who should know better as they are helping the vulnerable and is a local councillor who is.

megletthesecond · 14/04/2020 15:51

No.
However, the older teens in our estate are mingling with boyfriends / girlfriends.
