I need to level with you

TheSandman · 13/04/2020 13:25

'Government advisor' where it means any dead-behind-the eyes Oxbridge goon with a recreational interest in eugenics and a trust fund who can tie his own shoelaces

I thought that last bit was optional.

Echobelly · 13/04/2020 13:28

'Blitz spirit'
'Fight/defeat' for anything that isn't something you can actually fight or defeat

Fucking furlough (I work in payroll)

Undomesticgodde55 · 13/04/2020 13:40

"We're all in the same boat."

We're bloody not. Some have financial hits, some have social/personal hits, other are lapping up the free time while others are risking their health to carry on working.

WE ARE NOT ALL IN THE SAME BOAT!!!!

SharonasCorona · 13/04/2020 13:43

“Shielding” don’t know why it bugs me so much but something to do with sounding patronising if said about others and a bit wet/victim complex if used by someone about themselves

Neepers · 13/04/2020 14:01

We’ve all got to die of something...

If it’s all the same to you, I’d rather take precautions and live a bit longer.

Sonichu · 13/04/2020 14:01

"Unprecedented (as pronounced by ms Sturgeon)"

???

maddiemookins16mum · 13/04/2020 14:07

Stay at Home. I have to go to work or I don’t get paid (non essential worker). I’d love to stay safe in my house.

Hamsterfeatures · 13/04/2020 14:07

10600 people have died before their time.

Persiaclementine · 13/04/2020 14:10

“Flouting” (and worse, misuse of “flaunting”)

susandelgado · 13/04/2020 14:22

Pray for 😒

ArtieFufkinPolymerRecords · 13/04/2020 14:22

Rainbows have been drawn by children and feature in children’s rhymes and stories long before it became an LGBT symbol.

I hope that in future we can go back to any of us having rainbows on clothes etc. without people assuming it's a statement about LGBT. I have no issue with anyone's sexuality, but if I like a t-shirt with a rainbow on that's why I'm wearing it, nothing else.

ArtieFufkinPolymerRecords · 13/04/2020 14:24

One hour of exercise.

LittleMissLumpy · 13/04/2020 14:26

'Hunker down'

...I've hunkered enough, TYVM.

Kuponut · 13/04/2020 14:28

Chirpy TV presenters sat at opposite ends of the studio wittering on about social distancing

"Of course this programme was made before the current measures were introduced" ... with any two characters in the same postcode in shot.
