"Unprecedented"

"Social distancing"

"Feed the nation"

OP posts:

I'm irritated by anyone who uses the hash tag #lockdown2020

I've seen so many of those kids hand print pictures on social media where the mum/dad has written #lockdown2020 at the bottom of it

Not only is the hash tag completely unnecessary on a fucking painting, I also agree with what another poster has said above about 'lockdown' being really melodramatic

BikeRunSki · 13/04/2020 11:15

I was going to say “unprecedented”!

HopefullyAnonymous · 13/04/2020 11:17

People describing themselves as shieldING when they mean shieldED.

It’s a tiny thing but I see it on here all the time and it really grates on me.

PuppyMonkey · 13/04/2020 11:18

“Here to answer your questions is Dr Sarah Jarvis.”

Namechangervaver · 13/04/2020 11:19

Unprecedented

Self-isolate ( where did the word 'self' come from?)

Social distancing (for reasons said upthread by PP)

I'm glad to see it's not just me!

recklessruby · 13/04/2020 11:20

I have almost given up facebook. But the self appointed smug police always say
You are not stuck at home, you are safe at home. I dont want to hear it ever again.
Don't they realise you ARE stuck at home because there's a killer disease and a lockdown.
Not everyone is SAFE at home. DV doesn't take a break for the virus for instance.
How SAFE are you stuck at home with family who have the virus?
Also social distancing and flatten the curve.

Karmatime · 13/04/2020 11:20

These are challenging times.....

caz114 · 13/04/2020 11:20

another hospital is being built

flatten the curve

when will schools open?

when will it end?

personal deployed

food parcels

self isolating

Egghead68 · 13/04/2020 11:21

Underlying health conditions.

VanGoghsDog · 13/04/2020 11:22

"lock down"

"Furlough"

And if one more politician refers to a new high number as a "record" I'll not be responsible for my actions. A record sounds like a good thing. Every new high is a new low.

VanGoghsDog · 13/04/2020 11:25

People describing themselves as shieldING when they mean shieldED.

It’s a tiny thing but I see it on here all the time and it really grates on me.

It's not "people" who have got that wrong, it's the government, that is what they have called it. They have whole webpages on it.

And I'm not sure it is grammatically wrong anyway, I can be shielding myself from something. To be shielded implies someone else is doing it for me. They aren't.

FalsePerceptions · 13/04/2020 11:26

Bloody "slots".

Egghead68 · 13/04/2020 11:28

What @VanGoghsDog said. No one else is shielding me. I’m actively doing it myself. Little/no support in practice.

MigginsMs · 13/04/2020 11:29

“We’re expecting the peak in 2 weeks”

Said every week for the last month

HouseTornado · 13/04/2020 11:29

Muuuuuuummmmmmm!

Every two minutes.

PuppyMonkey · 13/04/2020 11:30

I don’t get the comment about shielding/shielded either.

Slave2love · 13/04/2020 11:35

Unprecedented- for some reason it makes me cringe hearing everyone use this word!

Stay the fuck home- again, even though I am staying home and doing what I'm told when I hear this I just want to say oh fuck off.

Lexilooo · 13/04/2020 11:38

@puppymonkey oh god yes! Talk about over exposed, it is as if the BBC only know one doctor, doesn't she have any actual doctoring to do?

And then they start asking her to comment on topics entirely outside her sphere of expertise.

Plus she one of the worse for making up her own version of the rules and spouting them as fact. No Dr Sarah, there isn't a 1 hour exercise limit - argh!

FaFoutis · 13/04/2020 11:41

Sorry if you feel that way

Nextsteps84 · 13/04/2020 11:42

"Foreseeable" I will never use that word again after this Angry

lotusbell · 13/04/2020 11:43

Flatten the curve

katmarie · 13/04/2020 11:44

Mummy. Mummy. Mummy. Mummy. Mummy? Mummy! Muuuuuummy. Mummmmmmmmmmeeeeeeeee. I am going slowly insane.

Crystaltree · 13/04/2020 11:44

Stupid fucking rainbows everywhere. Even normally serious Radio 3 is having a national singalong of Somewhere Over the Rainbow this week, ffs.

It's idiotic because:
A it was already a symbol of GAY. GAY GAY GAY ok?
B it's other symbolism is of some happy place that doesn't really exist, ie the crock of gold (crock of shit more like).

MintyMabel · 13/04/2020 11:44

Rules are rules.

caz114 · 13/04/2020 11:44

Fed up of 'testing' , 'vaccine' and 'shortages'
