I told my family I would have to do the washing again

...because I left it out too long and it had been darked on and spiders might have rubbed their willies on it.

And they laughed at me and said I was weird.

Should I LTB?

dementedpixie · 12/04/2020 23:34

You are weird. No way would I wash it again

indemMUND · 12/04/2020 23:36

This morning I found a bra stuck on the fence that I'd put out to dry yesterday with the rest of the washing. My first thought was "It's been darked on!" Grin

BadgertheBodger · 12/04/2020 23:38

I brought in a couple of bits this morning which had not only been darked on but rained on and I’m too lazy to rewash Blush

Oakmaiden · 12/04/2020 23:40

But but - not only darked on but clouds had wee'd on them? That is terrible!

OP posts:
DramaAlpaca · 12/04/2020 23:41

Meh, I wouldn't bother.

TorkTorkBam · 12/04/2020 23:46

Obviously like any totally sane person I am disturbed at the idea of wearing clothes that have been darked on. I am however too lazy to rewash. I will not use a darked on towel. I will get pregnant by ghost willies if I use a darked on towel.

MiggyMoggyMoo · 12/04/2020 23:47

Our picnic blanket got darked in last night.... I obviously had to burn it this morning

Gooseygoosey12345 · 12/04/2020 23:47

LTB. Totally unacceptable to wear darked on clothes! Grin

Preggers86 · 12/04/2020 23:47

Now if the clouds wee on my washing I have to wash it again as my oh says that cloud wee isn't clean and makes the laundry smell. I don't however dont mind spidersrubbing their Willy's on it

EveryFlightBeginsWithAFall · 12/04/2020 23:50

Washing? What's washing

OzziePopPop · 13/04/2020 00:01

Leave the lot (LTL?). Immediately and without looking back.

Spider willies are no joke, moths could have landed on it too!

Run, preferably screaming. Sod lockdown it’s essential!

Holdingmybreath · 13/04/2020 00:05

I do not mind darked on washing or spider Willie's.I do however mind whole spiders that when creep out of the washing basket or out of something I am folding.

IAteAPrittStick · 13/04/2020 00:14

OMG LTB right now. Grin

vodkaredbullgirl · 13/04/2020 00:18

More Gin or Wine op lol

Pickles89 · 13/04/2020 00:19

Why are people so discriminatory against spider willies?! Most women are willing to take their OH's member in their MOUTH, but minuscule critter willies against their clothes are disgusting?

AlCalavicci · 13/04/2020 00:29

I have left my quilt cover outside it has been darked on and the clouds have wee'd on it but the wind has puffed on it too so that makes everything alright ( doesnt it >>worried face

UnholyStramash · 13/04/2020 00:32

As I’ve used my lockdown time usefully and finished knitting a shawl I hung it out in sunshine this morning. It’s now been rinsed and darked on - at heart I’m an optimist and fully expect it to be sunned upon tomorrow after it’s been darked upon.

agonyauntie2020 · 13/04/2020 00:33

Am I the only one who remembers that during the darkening, spiders chew tiny little holes for their willies and bodies, climb inside, close the holes with their spider teeth and then open them again when they are indoors so they can crawl out...

All darked on washing needs redoing.

WouldShouldCould · 13/04/2020 00:34

Yes, AlCalavicci wind puff cancels out being darked on and horny spiders.

Fayna91 · 13/04/2020 00:36

Ha the comments on this thread have cracked me up. Am I the only one who has never heard the term 'darked on'?
I would probably have to rewash if spiders had been near!

Preggers86 · 13/04/2020 00:39

Just a word of advice do not underestimate the power of the wind puff. I did once and it nearly made my bedsheets disappear. If it hadn't of been for me hearing the cries of help coming from the sheet I dread to think what could of happened

AlCalavicci · 13/04/2020 00:50

It is is good to know that puff will cure any darked on and spidered stuff.

@Preggers86 oh no your poor sheet must of been terrified , umm what language do sheets speak and do quilts covers speak the same language ? I need to know what to listen for !

Pieceofpurplesky · 13/04/2020 00:52

I am in bed and have remembered I have a Towel our being darked on. It's DS's though ...

Preggers86 · 13/04/2020 01:01

@AlCalavicci mine speak bedlinish. So it sort of said woooooh flap flap wooooooooh.

I am slightly concerned now for those people who have left their washing out as the wind is getting very puffy

Preggers86 · 13/04/2020 01:03

@Pieceofpurplesky I think some towels like the challenge of being darkened on. It makes them feel strong and brave
