Kids outside too early?

PinkSparkleUnicorns · 11/04/2020 08:24

It's 8:20 and I've just let my young kids out to play. Instantly regretting it! They are not screaming and shouting but enough noise to wake the neighbours behind us I think. I just wasn't thinking, is there an unspoken time that's generally acceptable to send kids out to play?

Ah yes, that’s too early! I would say after 9.30-10?

birdsbeefriesandeggs · 11/04/2020 08:27

Hope their back in now! Around 10 on a weekend, people like to sleep in.

Lefkosia · 11/04/2020 08:27

Definitely too early

Lazydaisydaydream · 11/04/2020 08:28

On my street 9 seems to be the OK time, whether it's the weekend or not. Before I had kids it was too early as I wanted a lie in. Now that I have kids it's far too late as by 9 I'm desperate Grin

CottonSock · 11/04/2020 08:28

I let mine out for Easter egg hunt yesterday just before 10. Instant excited squealing and I regretted it. Neighbour slammed his window.

SnuggyBuggy · 11/04/2020 08:28

I think after 8 is OK. If people want to sleep in they can always wear earplugs

AMomHasNoName · 11/04/2020 08:29

Yes ,way too early .

EveryDayIsADuvetDay · 11/04/2020 08:29

8.20 doesn't seem that unreasonable - could't you just ask them to keep the noise down?
(I did misread that at first as they were screaming and shouting, and was about to write something v different Grin).

islandislandisland · 11/04/2020 08:29

Yep would not thank you if you were my neighbour. The days are long at the moment having to stay in, some people might be trying to sleep some of it away. 10am on a weekend is reasonable to make noise to me but most round my way start at 9

PinkSparkleUnicorns · 11/04/2020 08:30

Brought them in now! Irony is they started screaming and shouting and crying when they had to come in... oops as I say never again!!!

I used to keep mine in until 9. At the back we have kids screaming at 7.15. I think they must go out to feed animals, but it's always loud.

LolaSmiles · 11/04/2020 08:31

It's a bit early in my opinion.
Personally I think outside is fine after 9, but no noisy play until 9:30/10am.

I dislike the idea that people should waste half their weekend waiting for those who like lie ins to sleep the morning away.

Gizlotsmum · 11/04/2020 08:31

Depends on the neighbours really.. I wouldn't let mine out before 9, but most of my neighbours are up by then...

angelopal · 11/04/2020 08:32

I try not let them out before 10 as they are noisy.

DysonFury · 11/04/2020 08:32

DD6 is up at 6am and we're in the garden by 7. She's quiet though and mindful of our neighbours.

wendz86 · 11/04/2020 08:32

9 , except sundays where i don't let them out till 10.

blissfulllife · 11/04/2020 08:33

Easy to forget and just let the nippers out, I've done it enough in the past. My partners a key worker, working seriously long shifts at the moment. Today we've been woken by neighbours lovely kids playing out at 8am. This was his only chance of a lie in for the next ten days. Can't be too mad at least they are happy and having fun x

Jellycatfox · 11/04/2020 08:33

I think after 8 is fine.

GloriaMaximus · 11/04/2020 08:33

My neighbour has a young toddler and they have their morning coffee in the garden with said child playing. Maybe I'm soft because I'm pregnant and DC1 is a decade past the cute age, but I love hearing their child play whilst in a half sleep haze 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

CeibaTree · 11/04/2020 08:34

After 10 on a weekend and after 9 on a weekday is acceptable I think. Good for you for being considerate and bringing them back inside :)

PinkSparkleUnicorns · 11/04/2020 08:34

My DH is a key worker and working all the time. Thought I'd give him a lay in so threw them out, then though 'oh shit what about everyone else!'

It's too early. You need to wait until 9, maybe 10 on Sundays.

ludicrouslemons · 11/04/2020 08:36

DC are up at 5. I can't wait til 10 to let them out. Neighbours will have to deal with it.

Gtugccbjb · 11/04/2020 08:37

10 is ridiculously late on any day but Sunday. 8-9 is fine. Wake the lazy bastards up.

PinkSparkleUnicorns · 11/04/2020 08:37

@DysonFury my little ones are not quiet it seems, but It would be ok if they were I think!

@Oysterbabe it's Saturday 🤣
