I want a very specific t shirt and can't find it anywhere ...

It mustn't be cropped but then it also mustn't be too long. I want it just on my hips.

Sleeves ... I want short sleeves but not capped. Just above the elbow

Cotton. Nice material and nice weight but not too heavy. Not see through. Not clingy but not baggy. Size 14 ish

And where is this t shirt? Beats me.

I have lots of Hush - they go shapeless and sleeves too short. Zara is the same. M and S is a no. New Look no.

Any ideas?

I bought the t shirt you are looking for from Gap, about 10 years ago. Wore it til about 2 years ago when it finally got holes in. The sleeves were probably a bit shorter than above elbow, but definitely not capped.

It was perfect.

I need to find its modern day replacement.

I don't tend to shop anywhere except charity shops these days, but you've inspired me to look at Gap again sometime and see if they do a similar thing still...

Pretty little thing oversized T-shirt’s are good, for a size 14 I’d go for a medium, good for returns too

CalishataFolkart · 10/04/2020 22:01

It’s in the men’s section, possibly a “slim fit” medium.

Fruit of the Loom. I got mine off eBay. Sizing is a bit all over the place so check the physical measurements given.

I have a couple of these. They wash well and keep their shape.

EdithHope · 10/04/2020 22:07

You don't say how tall you are, but I think Cos might have what you're looking for. Their basic t shirts are a lovely cotton, wash well and retains the shape. I've got crew and v necks. Arket also do a good range of basic tees.

Likethebattle · 10/04/2020 22:08

Dorothy Perkins

LatteLarrys · 10/04/2020 22:09

Ooh I'll check some of these out thank you

I'm not tall. 5 ft 3 ish. And a curvy size 14. It's always the sleeves and length. Always. I want the tops of my arms covered but it still to be short sleeved

Try Cotton Traders.

TerrorWig · 10/04/2020 22:13

I had one like this from Dorothy Perkins, but this was at least 11 years ago as it was from the Tall section as I was pregnant. It's the elbow length sleeves that tend to be a problem. Don't think I've seen anything similar for years.

Peapod29 · 10/04/2020 22:14

I have this t shirt from Uniqlo last year in a stripe fabric though. It might be worth keeping an eye on their website for summer stock.

ATowelAndAPotato · 10/04/2020 22:14

Why is M&S a no? Have you tried them and ruled them out, or is it a M&S prejudice? Smile

ATowelAndAPotato · 10/04/2020 22:15

*an not a Blush

CatBatCat · 10/04/2020 22:16

Slim fit mens tshirts. They're always better quality material.

LatteLarrys · 10/04/2020 22:17

I've ordered two so far. From Cos. So thanks for that tip. Not somewhere I'd have thought of. I mainly shop at Hush. I've got the two from Cos for £24 using a code and free delivery so pleased with that.

Off to check out the others

@atowel M and S just don't shorts that are all wrong - and I've tried loads! Too clingy or too short in the body or sleeves too short. I've never been happy with one yet!

SouthWestmom · 10/04/2020 22:20

Oh I got three from Sainsbury's and they are perfect. I'm totally a terrible a twat about clothes and usually wouldn't check supermarkets first but actually Sainsbury's do amazing basics and the odd lovely thing.

LatteLarrys · 10/04/2020 22:20

The Rappanui ones look too short in the sleeves sadly

On a thread I read earlier in the year someone from Aus or NZ talked about a company that did custom made tshirts. They sounded awesome but I've no idea what company it was. I realise that isn't very helpful Sorry!

WhereYouLeftIt · 10/04/2020 22:24

M&S?
This looks to be the same as one I bought a couple of years back, which fits your description.
