AIBU to ask if this t shirt actually exists?

I want a very specific t shirt and can't find it anywhere ...

It mustn't be cropped but then it also mustn't be too long. I want it just on my hips.

Sleeves ... I want short sleeves but not capped. Just above the elbow

Cotton. Nice material and nice weight but not too heavy. Not see through. Not clingy but not baggy. Size 14 ish

And where is this t shirt? Beats me.

I have lots of Hush - they go shapeless and sleeves too short. Zara is the same. M and S is a no. New Look no.

Any ideas?

I bought this t-shirt on amazon from fruit of the loom. I wear it under pinafore dresses.

Oysterbabe · 13/04/2020 09:19

This one.

I would look somewhere like Reiss or Whistles

AuntieUrsula · 13/04/2020 09:29

Uniqlo do nice ones

LightACandleHoney · 13/04/2020 09:34

Oliver Bonas is my go to for t-shirts that are exactly as you describe. Not cropped, but not long either - just long enough to tuck into jeans or a skirt if you want. Thick and not see through - even the white ones - but not heavy either. Sleeves a good length too.

Jellycatfox · 13/04/2020 09:36

What kind of neck? Round of V neck?

LightACandleHoney · 13/04/2020 09:38

I should also say that OB sizing comes up quite large so a size 12 MIGHT fit you, but I guess it depends on your shape and the fit you want. Their customer service and returns policy is also excellent and delivery times aren’t too long at the minute. I ordered a few things last week (including this t-shirt ) and they arrived pretty quickly.

minisoksmakehardwork · 13/04/2020 09:39

I've found mens shirts to be the fit that I am looking for - I'm a little taller and weighter than you. I've also found that tubular t shirts - without the side seams lose their shape less than those with seams.

What I have noticed time and time again when I have bought printed t shirts is the name 'Gildan'. I've now bought some plain t shirts from them so we will see how they fare.

Jellycatfox · 13/04/2020 09:44

Maybe something here? The quality is good

@oysterbabe that would be fab but the sleeves. Look at the sleeves! They're just too short by about an inch and a half at least

@lightacandlehoney those sleeves look perfect

The Uniqlo ones look promising

I’ve started buying men’s fit T-shirt’s. They are usually about £5, slightly longer in length and sleeves.

Purplewithred · 13/04/2020 10:05

I am just gearing up to order from this lot for the first time www.citizenwolf.com/collections/womens-made-to-measure-t-shirts/products/the-rolled-crew-womens-tee?variant=28974075117643. - came highly recommended here on Mumsnet

thenightsky · 13/04/2020 10:06

I've got 2 - one black one white - both from M&S, but about 4 years ago. Hip length with slightly longer sleeves than your average, so above elbows, but long enough to disguise bingo wings.

ghostyslovesheets · 13/04/2020 10:07

Warehouse

I’ve had a few from them - I’m 5ft 1” and a 12 they fit nicely - no cling and not too long

Also got one recently from Asda which was nice

thenightsky · 13/04/2020 10:09

mine are like this, but inch or two longer sleeves

thenightsky · 13/04/2020 10:11

choice of lengths with this one

Howzaboutye · 13/04/2020 10:13

Uniqlo summer range have a fantastic t shirt. Slightly boat neck, short sleeves, relaxed fit. Does not require ironing if you hang it up to dry.
I want more but they are not selling this style at the moment. Hoping they come back in the summer stock.

loutypips · 13/04/2020 10:13

I know you said no m&s, but they do seem longer on the sleeve than elsewhere!
Also, if they are coming up short on you, try the next size up.

I like the simply be half sleeve ones

They don't last long but they are cheap

I'm actually wearing a Primark t-shirt that matches that description. The sleeves are a third down the top of my arm. It's fitted but not clingy. Comes down to my hips. It's just from their basic section. They do a few different fits and loads of colours and patterns. I've had this one for years and it's still in good nic.

YouJustDoYou · 13/04/2020 10:16

I find men's section slim fit is often much better. Good quality, not clingy , etc
