To be really disappointed in Neils Yard?

I’m not under any illusions that Neil’s Yard products are amazing but they’re nice and have a shop local to me so I get stuff there occasionally and have found some nice products over the years. Today a post came up on a community page on fb reminding us to ‘support local business’ from someone claiming to be a Neil’s Yard ‘consultant’. A quick look on their website reveals that they operate as an MLM on the side. I feel really disappointed, I thought this was a legitimate business and have been buying their products for years (and more embarrassingly giving them as gifts). Is it a total overreaction to never use them again?

What's mlm?

Multi level marketing. Pyramid schemes. The podcast I linked to earlier in the thread might be of interest if you want to know more. It's called The Dream.

I think there is a distinction between homeopathy and I guess natural medicine? Lots of medication is derived from plants - for example Taxol the chemo is (in part at least) made from yew trees. I've used arnica in the past for bruising and it has helped. That's not to say it all works, but there is a distinction i think.

Helenshielding I was wondering this, the NHS recommend St John's wort for example and they used to recommend arnica creams/ gels for csection bruising a few years back .

NHS article about SJW

But obviously if things are in a high enough concentration to be effective, then they can also cause side effects.

That's a good example- I totally forgot about SJW.

As someone mentioned earlier about MLM reps using Covid to make money I know someone (works for Arbonne) who has been posting asking for £10 donations towards 'care packages' for the NHS workers which I find shocking. For a start £10 won't go anywhere with Arbonnne's overpriced cosmetics and secondly where is the accountability that all the money has been used in this way, not to mention that she doesn't say anything about how it is going to benefit her and her uplines Angry it is all done with the tone of 'charity'.

I understand that some MLMs have a bad rep, but do look into the company before stating information that’s not true.
Neal’s Yard don’t offer shinny white Mercedes or trips to the Bahamas...
And earn 25% commission of sales and receive 25% discount on consultants own shopping.
There is nothing iffy about there business structure.
Neal’s yard Remedies believe in taking product to people and do not pay for any advertising..
