To not walk down the shop to buy an icecream for my DH?

My husband has taken himself off to sulk because I have refused to make the non-essential visit to our corner shop to buy him an icecream as part of my 1hr exercise.

I have point blank refused and he thinks I’m being over the top and ridiculous. He wont go though.....

Nosauce so why the fuck click on the thread to read and bother to comment when from the OP's concise thread title it is perfectly obvious what the topic is??

Fool.

NoSauce bye then 👋

@NoSauce you do realise government advice doesn’t also include ‘essential threads on mumsnet’ only.

And that there will be several hundred threads posted daily on mumsnet that won’t be directly relevant to you. Just as threads you start won’t necessarily be relevant to me.

The fact that there have been 128 responses shows that it wasn’t an entirely ‘pointless thread’ given that 128 saw fit to comment in some way.... Including you!

And it was, mostly, lighthearted on my part. But also genuinely wondering because this is literally the first time my husband has asked me to get him an icecream amid a global pandemic and the only other person I had around to ask was my five year old who was wholly in agreement with her Dad, that icecream IS essential.

But don’t worry love, I didn’t go and buy any. I was too busy carrying my BBQ to the park!

Reviving the thread to say we made the no churn ice-cream shouldbedoing linked to on page one and it was delicious - way better than shop bought ice-cream! I was not expecting that at all! Still it shouldn't be surprising as it's just cream, milk and sugar (milk and sugar in the form of condensed milk) plus vanilla extract, no added fillers or preservatives.

So easy to make that my 8 year old did everything and I just directed!

Thank you for the inspired googling shouldbedoing FlowersGrin
