Where is she and why has she not been part of the briefings etc?

OP posts:
greenlynx · 04/04/2020 21:46

Probably because you can’t beat Gove or Hancock in talking, both of them are able to answer any questions for any length of time very persuasively even without any knowledge.

CardamomTea · 05/04/2020 07:25

Ahahahahaha
God im sick of that cunt gove

Silvercatowner · 05/04/2020 07:46

She's incredibly unpopular and being kept away from a public facing role, I would think. Same with Jacob R-M.

What a shower.

Helmetbymidnight · 05/04/2020 07:48

she's the home secretary - 2nd/3rd highest office in the land? - but she cant be trusted to speak. Hmm

Fallsballs · 05/04/2020 07:50

The same is true of Johnson - keep them away from public and Rees Mogg 🙄 apparently his investment company will do well from COVID-19.
They don’t give a shit.

Fallsballs · 05/04/2020 07:51

She hasn’t spoken - has she ?

Smurfy23 · 05/04/2020 07:53

Shes clinging onto her job by the skin of her teeth. Coronavirus has meant shes been taken off of the headlines and shes probabky hoping everyone will forget shes a bully.

Exoffice · 05/04/2020 07:54

she has this horrible condascending smirk on her face which she cannot wipe off irrespective of how serious the matter

I don't like her, but she has clashed with Boris over some of the decisions. One of the one's picked up by the popular press was him being reluctant to ban all non essential flights, especially from outside the EEU.

So i did wonder if it was that. She can be a bit of a loose cannon. I'm die hard Labour, dislike Hancock, but he is good at public speaking and sounding caring. He isn't but he can play the game.

BruceAndNosh · 05/04/2020 07:58

Because she doesn't want to be questioned on how reliant the NHS is on non British born staff

justcly · 05/04/2020 08:05

All we need is Priti Vacant talking about shieldin' and self-isolatin'. Hopefully she's locked in a cupboard somewhere and they've forgotten which cupboard

MonaLisaDoesntSmile · 05/04/2020 08:08

She did a speech in the Parliament before they sit down about victims of home abuse, that's as far as her input went...

OwlinaTree · 05/04/2020 08:17

She was talking about DV the other day on the radio. Was she on Woman's hour? Or were they talking about her?

StealthPolarBear · 05/04/2020 08:20

It's a good point op, they seem to have all the secretaries of state out, matt Hancock more than most which makes sense I suppose but why not her.

Pinkocelot · 05/04/2020 08:24

Because she doesn't want to be questioned on how reliant the NHS is on non British born staff

That's probably true. Because what she's discovered, and most decent people already knew, it's not just nurses and doctors that are key workers: it's delivery drivers, supermarket workers, cleaners, childminders, carers,TAs etc. And how many of those would sneak in under her beloved points system.

That and the smirk. Oh, and the bullying. And for the coup de grace, the combating counter-terrorism, sigh.

Apart from those, I can't imagine why the awful woman isn't front of stage.

Alialialiali · 05/04/2020 08:26

@MockersxxxxxxxSocialDistancing

Can we not get the sour-faced goblin Patel to glare at the virus with a face that could turn milk. Then she could shout at it and call it effing useless. Virus would shrivel and die on the spot.

GrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrin
So true

onalongsabbatical · 05/04/2020 08:27

She is quite incapable of ditching the smirk. I expect even the Tories realise how badly that would come across in the current circumstances.

ThisFineMap · 05/04/2020 08:33

@ Pinkocelot
spot on

beautifulteeth · 05/04/2020 08:34

Love Priti Patel..
She's a darn sight better than Abbott would have ever been. Now she WAS a liability.

LittleLittleLittle · 05/04/2020 08:38

@onalongsabbatical unfortunately dentists don't have sufficient PPE so are unable to work, therefore cannot remove her teeth so she doesn't smirk.

LittleLittleLittle · 05/04/2020 08:40

@beautifulteeth Abott would have listened to her civil servants.

Funnily enough both women have had to work with one another being opposites.

MaccaPacca81 · 05/04/2020 08:43

As home Secretary, she should be playing a far greater role in this pandemic but she's probably too busy trying to work out how she can deport more foreign nurses or african hospital porters.

Evil woman.

HoneysuckIejasmine · 05/04/2020 08:43

God, Gove is, as I saw written somewhere, so slippery he could slide under a closed door. He never answers a question.

Priti... Well, she'd have to admit the home office have been totally wrong with their approach to "low skilled" immigration. So better she says nothing.

KonTikki · 05/04/2020 08:51

3 loose cannons associated with this Government who are being deliberately kept out of the public eye;
Jacob Rees Mogg
Pretti Patel
Boris's Dad
