I’m not a fan of Gove but he able to get the message across and answer question clearly without waffling

Patel is a bit of a loose cannon so best kept away

Different strengths are needed at different times I think whoever is able to present the information and answer the questions clearly is best to hold the press conferences - I don’t think that is necessarily a reflection on how good they are as a politician

^^ this is a good point though. The last I saw of Boris’s Dad was him proclaiming he most certainly would NOT be self isolating!

Because she’s a political liability at the moment - allegations of bullying, the face of the government’s stance on immigration in a climate where we have never been more reliant on immigrant NHS workers who are literally putting their lives on the line to save ours, her low popularity ratings. In BJ’s position I’d be looking to sideline her as quickly as possible.

She’s not involved because her career is all but over. Even if she is cleared of bullying all it will take is someone else to claim the same. She’s going to have to defend her behaviour in court and then have her conduct cleared by the Civil Service.

Another bitchy thread about Priti Patel. No. It's a legitimate question. Given the police were given new powers to enforce social distancing, it would seem obvious to have the Home Secretary commenting so she was conspicuous by her absence.

Because the government know that she's very unpopular and we are unlikely to listen to what she's instructing us to do. They are using people who they think can get us to do as we are told.
