...now we are in lockdown and since COVID19?

I will start... I keep having recurring dreams about tornadoes. I can see one coming from miles away and destroying everything in sight. It finally reaches my house and everything is shaking and blowing around- it's terrifying! Then it's gone, and there is no damage at all.
I've had this dream at least 4 times this week that I can remember.

Anyone else channeling their inner feelings into some weird dream?

Tons not bad just odd. I dreamt about helen mirren then when i woke up she was on my twitter feed. I think the virus is giving me useless psychic powers. Grin

YgritteSnow · 03/04/2020 23:24

Yes! I keep waking up in the early hours and not being able to get back to sleep. I woke up with my heart pounding a few nights because I had heard someone shouting my name, but my children were fast asleep and I am a single parent.

WeakAndWeary · 03/04/2020 23:24

Yes! Last night I was so so busy trying to get back home from London but every train I got on was either cancelled or not going where it said it was. I must have tried 20 trains becoming increasingly desperate. Woke up bloody exhausted and buts of the dream have been pinging into my head all day. It’s very unsettling

ChipsyChopsy · 03/04/2020 23:27

I've definitely been having epic, involved dreams that leave me exhausted.

k1233 · 03/04/2020 23:28

I found a baby elephant who didn't have a mum so I got to look him. I was so excited about it I woke myself up LOL

k1233 · 03/04/2020 23:34

I'll add I often have dreams about baby animals - puppies, kittens, foals. Never a baby elephant though! I was so excited I could barely get back to sleep. You would have thought I had my own actual baby elephant Grin

I'm remembering my dreams more these days and they feel more vivid.

Paddingtonthebear · 03/04/2020 23:37

Yeah I’ve been having dreams about people I know who who have died, recently and in the past. I don’t know why.

Lynda07 · 03/04/2020 23:42

Yes, I've had some weird dreams. I always have dreamed vividly but the recent ones take the biscuit.

longtompot · 03/04/2020 23:42

Yup, really vivid dreams which I can't really remember when I wake up. Last night though I dreamt I was a black woman! I still felt like me, but in the mirrors it didn't look like me. I remember thinking in my dream I wish people who are racist could do this and see we are all the same no matter what colour.

I have chronic insomnia, made worse by a fear of my horrible anxiety nightmares.
Last night I dreamed that DH and me were walking up a steep road in America. He was carrying an empty wooden crate and a book. I told him that he could put them in the gully next to the houses to get rid of them. He put them in next to a man sitting on a stool who shouted at us that it was against the law and we would be imprisoned if we didnt get them from the house fully further down eith the for sale sign next to it.
Dh rushed to do that and for some reason I was so angry I ran past him, hot in our car which was parked beyond the house for sale, started it and it rolled down the hill.
I tried to put my foot on the brake but my legs wouldnt move. Dh was shouting and I was going faster and faster towards the busy main road at the bottom.
Then I woke up sweaty and shouting!

Ifonly86 · 03/04/2020 23:48

I never dream usually, or ones that I can remember, but every night for 3 weeks I have been having vivid dreams about death, zombies and God saving us. I’m not religious and they have felt so real. I think we are all full of anxiety at the moment and it’s coming out in our dreams (nightmares)

squishedgrapes · 03/04/2020 23:48

Yes! I've had dreams about my father who passed away 6 years ago. In one he was telling me to let my daughter off for not eating veg(she loves veg), in another he was telling me to make sure my bills were paid - I used to be bad with money until I had children

squishedgrapes · 03/04/2020 23:51

I think it's because I feel quite anxious with no one to hold me together and being responsible for my children. I suppose my father made me feel safe and no one else ever has

Ifonlywecouldwishuponastar · 04/04/2020 00:01

I have had lots of weird dreams over the years. My dh never dreams. The worst is when it's so real you want to call the person to check they are okay at 3am.

Wewearpinkonwednesdays · 04/04/2020 00:07

On the night of my 30th birthday I dreamt that my mum and dad got back together. They split nearly a year ago, it was an awful break up, but that's the first I've had any dreams about it. It was so real.

recklessruby · 06/04/2020 00:20

Last night I dreamt I could do magic. I turned my son s unpleasant ex girlfriend into a purple kitten and my dad was telling me I had gone too far and to turn her back.
I refused because the purple kitten was really cute!
Really wish I could turn nasty people into cute animals

AntiEverythingToday · 06/04/2020 00:28

Yes! I had a very vivid sex dream earlier this week which was enjoyable but last night I had a dream about a gang torturing a guy. Saw way too much graphic stuff and couldn't stop it.. I was linda there but not there if that makes sense.
Oh and like a PP I am having crazy bad anxiety lying in my bed at night. I dont know why but every night I'm struggling to control my breathing and wind down Sad its horrible

TheSandman · 06/04/2020 00:33

I've recently been through a period (pre-lockdown) of really bad sleep. Waking at all hours, several times a night and always mid dream. I was noticing my dreams for the first time in years. I paid a visit to the doc's, got some good advice, made a few behavioural changes and I got back into a regular sleep pattern... and my dreams went away.

According to my doctor we are at our most wake-able in dreamsleep. That's when our sleep is shallowest. If we wake in the middle of a dream we will remember it. If we wake when we're not dreaming in the morning we'll have forgotten the dreams we did have during the night

I don't think people are having more vivid dreams since/because of this lockdown. I suspect a lot of people's sleep patterns are disturbed as a result of having their whole work rest /cycles buggered around with.

A lot of people are just waking up in the middle of their dreams for the first time in a long time and noticing them..

ALongHardWinter · 06/04/2020 01:34

I have had three dreams about bonfires. Huge bonfires belching out so much thick black smoke that the sky is black.

DameHannahRelf · 06/04/2020 01:41

Yes, weird abstract dreams with odd patterns, and unsettling one with family and old friends I miss, where I discover something important, or nearly do, but then I wake up and forget what. Both types feel like they've lasted all night, and make me feel like I haven't slept. I think it's because I'm unsettled/out of my normal routine?
