I've wondered this for a while but am too shy to ask my friends IRL in case they get the wrong idea.

Dark web

Depends where you live I guess. The cannabis dispensary where I live is still open, You have to line up outside 2 meters apart.& they only let a couple people in at a time.

Special delivery on takeaway if my neighbours earlier delivery was anything to go by

I work with people who have substance abuse habits, there is no change in their day to day movement at all, still going out to pick up at all times if the day etc.

DdraigGoch · 04/04/2020 00:44

Lockdown does make it easier to catch them.

The only person I know these days (am middle aged) who has a clandestine substance habit that they sometimes openly discuss is a recreational Valium user who buys online from an (illegal) website. She quite happily told me all about it and apparently it is business as usual. Who knew eh? She seemed very relieved 😏

BreathlessCommotion · 04/04/2020 00:51

I've witnessed two drug deals since lockdown. Fewer people and cars around make it easier to spot. It was mot obvious two people meeting up, albeit briefly.

The dealer in my street was doing a roaring trade tonight. I counted at least 10 people visiting her house in the space of an hour.

JigsawsAreCool · 04/04/2020 02:22

My neighbours dealer was round at 10pm. Quick (but not subtle) doorstep exchange rather than going in.

BlackeyedSusan · 04/04/2020 02:26

drug dealer pulls up outside house in car, parking in the middle of the road, rings buyer, buyer goes to car sticks head near window, goes into mates house to take it.

I was loading the boot of the car and could not understand what a car was doing parked in the middle of the road.

I was thinking this as I watched Ozark and wondered if the Mexican cartel are still out and about shoving their enemies into woodchippers or if they're adhering to social distancing Grin

Changeofname79 · 04/04/2020 06:26

When driving doing the shopping i saw a local dealer stood on a corner and there were people queuing 2m apart. Not even joking.

County linesis when criminals from major cities such as Liverpool, Manchester, London and Birminghamexpandtheir drug networks to other areas of the country. Thisactivity bringsviolence, exploitation and abuse to rural communities.

The crime is so-called because a single telephone number is used to order drugs, operated from outside the area, across county lines.

County line networks arehaving a massive impact on rural counties.Vulnerable children and adults are being recruited in our large cities to transport cash and drugs all over the country.Thiskeepsthe true criminals behind itdetached from the actand less likely to be detected or caught.

These gangs often set up a base in a rural area for a short time, taking over the home of a vulnerable person (also knownas "cuckooing"). They then use adults and children to act as drug runners.

The increase in activity around county lines is also believed to have contributed to the rise in knife crime.

Wauden · 04/04/2020 09:38

Anybody of any age could theoretically be exploited into joining a county lines operation, but the majority are vulnerable young people aged 15-17, coerced into the crime through intimidation, violence, and weapons, including knives and guns.

"Vulnerable children and adults are being recruited in our large cities to transport cash and drugs all over the country," sayCrimeStoppers.

"This keeps the true criminals behind it detached from the act and less likely to be detected or caught."

Wauden · 04/04/2020 09:42

"Gangs are deliberately targeting vulnerable children – those who are homeless, living in care homes or trapped in poverty," sayThe Children's Society.

"These children are unsafe, unloved, or unable to cope, and the gangs take advantage of this."

The gangs "might threaten a young person physically, or they might threaten the young person’s family members," and physical violence is common in the recruitment stage.

"Children as young as 11 years old are recruited," sayFearless. "Young girls are often groomed and forced into relationships with gang members and are made to perform sexual acts.

IF YOU TAKE DRUGS YOU ARE PART OF THE EXPLOITATION of vulnerable people and children.
