I've wondered this for a while but am too shy to ask my friends IRL in case they get the wrong idea.

OP posts:

The idle tosser next door is still getting his from somewhere, judging by the smell. I shouldn't imagine social distancing is proving too much of a problem for him given that all he does all day every day is sit around smoking.

ChickLitLover · 03/04/2020 21:03

My friend panic bought

Selfish. 🤣

AnotherMurkyDay · 03/04/2020 21:05

A lot of people will switch to something easy to get hold of (like alcohol) and then switch back once lockdown ends

bigchris · 03/04/2020 21:10

Am I being thick? If you know a dealer biking around why don't any of you call the police?

LisaSimpsonsbff · 03/04/2020 21:10

My estate is a bit dodge. I can confirm that drug dealers don't practice social distancing. Weird, as they're normally so hot on social responsibility...

8dayweek · 03/04/2020 21:10

My understanding with the homeless / rough sleeping addicts is that they're getting methadone scripts as they're currently (for the most part) in accommodation at the moment. In our local City I believe they're getting up to a weeks worth at once, bringing its own issues with the OD potential / high or increased street value etc.

LisaSimpsonsbff · 03/04/2020 21:14

It does make the 'two men walking in opposite directions swap small package from one of their hands to the other' move even less subtle than it usually is. My neighbour recently took a photo of someone smoking a crack pipe opposite our house and the police didn't care, so there's not much pressure on them to keep it under wraps...

PainauChocolat12 · 03/04/2020 21:16

My colleagues who smoke weed got a couple of months supply before lockdown was enforced.

Snorkelface · 03/04/2020 21:20

Same as ever, park was busy after dark tonight and friend with drug dealer in flat above her says it's business as usual. Other people in the block have called the police and reported it to the housing association regularly over the years and repeatedly over the last few weeks but nothing's been done even though it's a known issue.

Manchestermanchester · 03/04/2020 21:24

Lol I was in the supermarket and an older man (like 40) smelt so bad of weed. I thought the same thing.

cstaff · 03/04/2020 21:25

I'm not sure if this thread was meant to be funny but has me in stitches..

Panic buying..
Dealers going out of business
Or thriving as the case may be
😂😂😂

BrightYellowDaffodil · 03/04/2020 21:27

If you know a dealer biking around why don't any of you call the police?

Because I’ve seen what happens when relatively small operations get broken up - it shifts elsewhere within the neighbourhood and becomes a bigger outfit, plus the violence that ensues when a patch comes up for grabs and gangs start fighting over it. Sometimes it’s better to let sleeping dogs lie.

Santaclauswhosthat · 03/04/2020 21:28

Yeah tbh it's a bit shit bringing your kids up around these arseholes especially given that cops turn a blind eye which is not the same as legalisation because it just means it's not regulated at all but I'm sure it's hilarious for some.

CatBatCat · 03/04/2020 21:32

Bought online and delivered by Royal Mail.

Twofurrycatsagain · 03/04/2020 21:43

Stockpile buying when a lockdown looked likely.
Our local dealers tend to use the coop car park so you can handily stock up while on the hunt for pasta.
One dealer I know of did arrange contactless purchase well before any shop as his mother has auto immune problems.
This is all weed and I've no real idea about anything else although I imagine the dealers of Duke bar are carrying on as normal.

bigchris · 03/04/2020 21:44

@BrightYellowDaffodil oh thanks, blimey !!

SharpieInThe · 03/04/2020 21:54

Lol @bigchris Aw pet. You think the police give a fuck? They don't give a shit about the addicts. They don't give a shit about the communities this destroys. They don't give a shit about the next generation of children this will ruin.

Just don't be mean online!

TheSpottedZebra · 03/04/2020 21:56

HunterHearstHelmsley when you say referrals, do you mean people trying g to get clean, or eg heroin addicts who cant get what they need, asking for help? Or something else...?

Doingtheboxerbeat · 03/04/2020 22:02

What drugs have to come from overseas? I know that cannabis can be grown here, but what about coke or smack?

megletthesecond · 03/04/2020 22:05

big I've spent years calling the police. They do take a proper report but they said they prefer to use the information to trace the Mr Bigs a couple of levels up and take out a wider network.

MichaelBoobins · 03/04/2020 22:08

My neighbour goes out the drug dealers car and collects his drugs like he always does.

BeetrootRocks · 03/04/2020 22:09

As a non expert
Yes you can grow cannabis
Heroin and other opoids are poppies- Afghanistan etc
Coke and crack, coca plants in South America I think
LSD, speed, are manufactured, if you can get the ingredients you can make it here
We don't have too much meth here AFAIK, that's another manufactured one. Ditto ecstacy/ mdma

I imagine that Coke and heroin will run out. I hope they can get methodone to the heroin addicts.

I don't know anything about spice, or other stuff.

Ketamine was originally a horse tranquilliser I believe, not sure how that's made or what from.

I suppose for addicts then it's looking for anything to take the edge off. I hope glue doesn't make a comeback but suppose it could happen.

Fineifthatsthewayyouwantit · 03/04/2020 22:10

Plenty of crack/smack being sold on my estate. Every few minutes someone saunters down the road to pick up. Reckon I'm noticing it more because there's not many other people about/we are stuck indoors.

I've always assumed the police don't give a shit, in fact they would rather keep dealing like this on the estates and away from the 'nice' people Angry.

TheArchSorcererofContwaraburg · 03/04/2020 22:16

If you know a dealer biking around why don't any of you call the police?

They won't do anything and besides, he's a good neighbour, quiet and respectful. He just smokes weed and peddles weed.

Curlyshabtree · 03/04/2020 22:23

Friend works with drug users. Heroin is not getting in and what’s here is being cut even more with god knows what. Methadone use is rising.
