Are German nipples the worst?

I just learned the word for nipples in German is Brustwarzen

The literal translation is "breast warts"

Is this the worst direct translation or are there more out there?

A lot of these are the same as English

Tusindben - thousand legs - millipede Latin thousand foot

Næsehorn - nose horn - rhinocerous - Greek for nose horn

Dovendyr - lazy animal - sloth - sloth is an English word for lazy.

Thai has some fab ones .. a couple of my faves ..

Tong (stomach) sia (broken) =Diarrhoea

Tung (Bag) Tow (foot) = socks

There are many many more ...

Sadly, no. The word for animal in Russian derives from an old Slavic root word that means "life." Although живот in modern Russian does mean stomach/tummy, животное has nothing to do with that meaning. The literal translation would be something like "a living thing."

my favourite is that in denmark, the word for orange is appelsin. always now refer to oranges in english as ‘sinful apples’

The Romanian word for “the tulips” is “lalelele”. It is a language that could probably swap some of its vowels for some of Polish’s consonants.

I was told that it basically meant that eating breakfast meant you could live tomorrow. I thought that was an interesting insight into cultures... we 'break the fast' so looking retrospectively wheras eating for tomorrow was looking forward.

I was going to say I only know the Italian which is 'nipote' and then I realised I was talking rubbish as nipote actually means nephew.

My favourite Polish chocolates are called ‘ptasie mleczko’ and it’s only recently I found out it means bird’s milk. Because the filling is so light and fluffy.
