...if the queen has died?

I am not usually into conspiracy theories but really?

Biggest crises since WW2 and our head of state is completely silent. I just find it incomprehensible.

Don't be daft. She will just be watching the telly. She's not a performing seal. And Prince Charles did a message yesterday l

FullOfCake · 02/04/2020 20:38

Ridiculous

LavenderQuartz · 02/04/2020 20:39

if she has Prince Charles managed to hold it together well yesterday.....unless that was pre recorded

he did look quite flushed though

Itallgoingpetetong · 02/04/2020 20:41

A statement from HMQ was on the news last week

NorthEndGal · 02/04/2020 20:41

Well she hasn't been silent, has she? And also made it super clear she was going to hunker down in safety.
There is nothing she can say to fix things, and realistically, exposing her to tech folk/tv crews all the time to set up interviews or speaches or what not isnt good, she is elderly and needs to isolate more than most, I'd say.

Exoffice · 02/04/2020 20:41

itall, I missed that she gave a speech then. oops

Wauden · 02/04/2020 21:28

She put a statement out. There was no broadcast, due to social distancing.

OmgThereAreNoPlanesAboveMeNow · 02/04/2020 21:31

I think it's fully acceptable that 90+ year olds keep away even from tv crews.

Isn't talking about HMQ being dead treason or something?

opticaldelusion · 02/04/2020 21:37

She issued a statement recently. She's also nearly 94. What exactly should she be doing? Cartwheels outside Windsor Castle?

DanielRicciardosSmile · 02/04/2020 21:39

To be fair, in WW2 the King wasn't 93...

bitchonthepitch · 02/04/2020 21:40

She's probably making the most of the time she has left with her husband now they are both staying in the same house again.

MilleniumHallsWalledGarden · 02/04/2020 21:42

If she did make an appearance, the second she was off-air the same rumours would start anyway. Schrodinger's Queen.

GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat · 02/04/2020 21:43

No! She’s been out tonight and put the blue lights on the castle 💙

SudokuQueen · 02/04/2020 21:44

I was wondering actually what will they do if a senior royal died right now. Couldn't exactly have a lavish funeral could they?

ilovedjerrymore · 02/04/2020 21:52

@opticaldelusion actually snorted as I laughed out loud! Brilliant! Grin

bitchonthepitch · 02/04/2020 22:02

They would have the funeral they wanted but behind closed doors, I'm sure they have secret underground tunnels to sneak through from the palace to the abbey or chapel Wink

Crafting1Queen · 02/04/2020 22:06

Oh FFS. Meanwhile, in the real world....

Womencanlift · 02/04/2020 22:07

@SudokuQueen I have been watching The Crown while being stuck indoors and I had the same thought.

If one of the senior members were too unfortunately pass away now there could not be a state funeral which would be very strange indeed.

I wonder if it would be a state memorial service when all this is over instead

Mummyshark2019 · 02/04/2020 22:11

Doubt it. She's just in isolation.

ViciousJackdaw · 02/04/2020 22:13

She's not a performing seal

No, she's a lizard Grin

PerkingFaintly · 02/04/2020 22:15

AIBU to secretly wonder if some of the posters starting the now daily threads claiming the Queen has died, are not acting entirely off their own bat?

DonttouchthatLarry · 02/04/2020 22:21

Schrodinger's Queen Grin this really made me laugh!

VodselForDinner · 02/04/2020 22:23

I was walking near Balmoral at 8pm tonight, heard a big heavy door creek open, some corgis barking, and a slow, slightly feeble, clap.

I reckon she’s fine.

Wauden · 02/04/2020 22:34

High Treason

The most serious of all felonies was high treason, or treason against the King of England. Eighteenth-century laws describe the four basic types of high treason:

1."When a man doth compass or imagine the death of our lord the king, of our lady his queen, or of their eldest son and heir".
