The national theatre is screening a play every Thursday evening at 7.00 on YouTube. For free!!!!

One Man Two Guvnors tonight. I saw it live and although James Corden isn't my favourite actor he brought so much energy to the show it was irresistible.

I'm looking forward to the 23 rdwhen it is Tamsin Greig (shout ou to all the Friday Night Dinner fans) in 12 th Night which is terrific.

I'm going to try to persuade dp to have it on. Otherwise I'll be in the bedroom with my laptop which seems a bit antisocial as I've been out at work all day.

Really looking forward to Twelfth Night.

1066vegan · 02/04/2020 18:53

I hadn't heard about the Globe doing it as well. Looks really good. I'm sure I read somewhere that the bbc are goung to be showing some productions but I can't remember the details.

iklboo · 02/04/2020 18:55

We're tuning in now with a drink.

BouleBaker · 02/04/2020 19:00

Really looking forward to this. We watched wind in the willows the other night

FlowerArranger · 02/04/2020 19:03

Lots of theatres etc doing free online screenings.

National Theatre
Royal Court
LPO
Wigmore Hall
ROH (opera and ballet)
ENO
The MET
Teatro Massimo
Opernhaus Zurich

Many museums/art galleries have free online tours. It's actually almost impossible to keep up!

1066vegan · 02/04/2020 19:07

It's all out of sync 😕

iklboo · 02/04/2020 23:41

Oh that was bloody good!

GlitterToast · 02/04/2020 23:41

Is there a list of all the shows we can see? Smile

LaneBoy · 03/04/2020 00:50

I’m really excited about twelfth night - favourite Shakespeare play and one of my favourite actresses too, since black books!

Hoping they stay available for a little while as the timing won’t always work unless I hide all evening with the iPad (actually that is tempting)

IcaMorgan · 03/04/2020 00:56

@GlitterToast

list here

1066vegan · 03/04/2020 06:52

@FlowerArranger thanks for sharing that list. I didn't realise so many were doing it.

1066vegan · 03/04/2020 06:55

Did the NT screening work for everyone else? I gave up after 5 minutes because the picture and sound were so out of sync that I would see one actor's mouth move but hear another actor speaking.

ShowOfHands · 03/04/2020 06:57

It worked for me.

Snowglobes · 03/04/2020 07:03

That’s fantastic and they’re each available for a week. Thank heavens as I missed last night and really want to see it!!

ImperfectTents · 03/04/2020 07:24

I couldn't watch it. It was like panto and I hate panto

iklboo · 03/04/2020 11:25

It's a farce. It's meant to be like that Smile

Katinski · 03/04/2020 12:01

I had a mail last night(actually posted earlier but I didn't pick it up until then)....5 minutes to go! Love theatre, loved that, made a donation to the National Theatre this morning. V.tough time.

viques · 03/04/2020 16:15

flowerarranger thanks for that list, I knew about the Royal Court and the National , but hadn't known about the others, off to investigate.

And on a personal note I am so pleased I finally realised I can get Netflix on my tv screen!

Fantastic!

Glittertwins · 03/04/2020 16:50

Great idea but I hated One Man Two Guvnors but the DCs has to watch it as online drama school world.

powershowerforanhour · 03/04/2020 16:53

Thanks for the lists. I'm an absolute philistine (with 2 small children and no babysitter) but might absorb some culture during lockdown!

GranolaBars · 03/04/2020 16:53

Yes, the Andrew Lloyd Webber ones look amazing! Tonight they are premiering the 2000 production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat with Donnie Osmond. Next week even better— Jesus Christ Superstar!

EstellaHanclay · 03/04/2020 16:56

Brilliant! I’ll be tuning into Joseph and the Technicolour Dreamcoat tonight
