Local gym just delivered a flier

What is it about "stay inside" and "essential trips only" that they don't understand?

Everybody is at home so they must have thought more people would read it.

What would be a reasonable response to this? E-mail them, share to local facebook group, organise a boycott? I can't believe they are this stupid.

Depends what the flier says? Many local businesses are offering online classes etc. Are they open?

I don't see the problem? Maybe the gym owner decided to do some advertising whilst they can't open. Maybe posting the flyers whilst on daily walk?

This takes judgy to a whole new level! Why can't they advertise for when they can re-open? They are not encouraging anyone to flout the rules, the fliers were delivered in a contactless manner by someone who is legitimately allowed out once a day. I am so bored of people starting threads over nothing.

They’re trying to keep their business going. They’re not advising you to go outside now. People are allowed to deliver things, and this may be someone’s job, they might not be delivering it by hand themselves. If they are; they’re likely in dire straights, to be honest. It won’t be fun.

I think this is what happens when we're given ambiguous advice. Because 'essential' is poorly defined and the default is 'stay indoors', the merest suggestion that someone might be outside for more than 30 minutes of speed walking alone is enough to get people a bit frothy.

Remember what we're trying to achieve - not spreading a virus. We need to keep our distance from each other. I don't see how delivering leaflets is going to increase your risk. Plus it might help to stop a business going under.
