Best covid 'brags' you've heard?

My favourite was a friend talking about a neighbour that she doesn't even like very much.He is a part time assistant to a funeral director - rushed off of his feet, so brave, so busy...

I was so irritated I checked on line - seven covid deaths n the entire bloody county, none reported in that town.
And it's a large county.

A friend who works in a general store on night fill who said "she's on the front line, and just loved when people clapped for her"

notjustamother · 07/04/2020 17:36

Ex's new GF in a mutual group chat bragging she had Corona and playing for sympathy listing all her awful symptoms and ex saying he couldn't have the kids as he also had it. A family member saw them in a DIY store the next day...

' If a pub posts about delivering food he will berate them for not giving him and his family a free meal. Saying they aren't supporting key workers'

I've seen loads of this on Facebook. M&S had a post up today offering NHS staff a free Easter egg and nearly every comment is 'what about me, I'm a care worker/retail assistant/lorry driver' etc

Monkeynuts18 · 08/04/2020 14:27

@wrongsideofhistorymyarse

That is the BEST bullshit Covid brag I’ve seen yet. GrinGrinGrin

Friend who willingly went into isolation three weeks before the lockdown and is now saying how much worse she has it than everybody else, and any time anyone says they're not enjoying it gets shut down.

FYI - she's also had people over to her house for drug fueled parties and tinder dates over for sex.

But can anyone point out that she's doing isolation wrong? Nope!

To be honest, I think that is fair enough, there are loads of non-NHS carers for example who deserve just as much as NHS workers get. Also remember not all NHS workers are frontline, do admin staff deserve easter eggs more than a truck driver getting food out to the shops?

I also think M and S offering Easter eggs is virtue signalling, like getting loads of staff to go out for a non essential is a good idea.

I’ve just deleted a really outing post about someone I know who is being lauded as a legend while others in a similar circle are quietly getting on with our jobs which are going absolutely bonkers and utterly terrifying.

@Idontmattertoher I've just learnt I'm a millenial then. I was born in 1981. I thought millenials were teenagers in the year 2000

PyongyangKipperbang · 10/04/2020 23:52

Isnt 81 GenX? Just?

I am GenX and I am from 1973 and I thought it was up until 1985 (happy to be corrected)

Yellowshirt · 11/04/2020 00:00

Yet again a light hearted subject on mumsnet has turned into something else.
This is getting ridiculous

TheArchSorcererofContwaraburg · 11/04/2020 00:03

The fake news and po-faces are rife right now.

PyongyangKipperbang · 11/04/2020 00:05

@yellowshirt

I started a thread about my fantasy shopping since lockdown. The first response was telling me how shitty I was getting all those poor delivery drivers to indulge my "extravaganza" (remember that particularly). The fact that the fourth thing on my list cost over 40 million and I stated that my debit card would laugh in my face if I had tried to pay for any of said fantasty shopping, seemed to pass that particular poster by.........you cant argue with stupid.

Yellowshirt · 11/04/2020 02:08

@PyongyangKipperbang it's scary how many people just want a computer fight at the moment.
