Just that. People keep saying there will be a baby boom in 9months and I wondered is it true? Are people really having more sex cause they are stuck at home??

God no. Too many kids in house

cdtaylornats · 31/03/2020 11:06

Teenage pregnancies should drop off.

Saladfingers95 · 31/03/2020 11:06

I did it twice yesterday 😂 definitely no more babies though!

Flippetydip · 31/03/2020 11:07

Nope. I keep saying we should, because it helps keep things nice between us but I can't be bothered. I'm sleeping badly due to the situation, the kids are here ALL the time, I'm busier at work (although WFH) than ever before and then last night I decided it would be a good idea to get on the trampoline with DD (9) and caught it wrong and jarred my back good and proper. Will try tonight, I think it would be beneficial.

Sallycinammonbangsthedruminthe · 31/03/2020 11:16

We.him and me keep saying we should but both of us cant be bothered! Funnily enough though we too seem to be getting on better lately.

TeaForTara · 31/03/2020 11:17

Years ago I used to collate weekly birth figures in the NHS. Twice I noticed a big jump (over a two or three week period) and tried to figure out what had caused it. Obviously I can't know for sure, but I believe one was when England beat Argentina in the football World Cup, and the other was when we had a four-day weekend for the Queen's Golden Jubilee or some such.

So yes, it's possible.

Lovemusic33 · 31/03/2020 11:20

I think there will be a drop in pregnancies, particularly those that are not planned.

I for one am having no sex because I don’t have a partner that lives with me, I know of many people in the same position, lots of people in relationships don’t live together and have had to self isolate in separate houses? The ones that are living together are probably sick of the sight of each other so not having much sex, others are working extra hours and will be too tired to make babies?

Helmetbymidnight · 31/03/2020 11:20

The baby boom thing shocks me!

I mean, really, now is the time to stop using contraception? I can't imagine many women will be thinking like that.

DiscoDown · 31/03/2020 11:20

No, as I don't live with DP, if I did we'd be having sex much more! No more babies though.

happytobeheresparkl · 31/03/2020 11:21

None at all and when I have it's been crap hate morning sex ! Frankly I'm too exhausted !

PrimeroseHillAnnie · 31/03/2020 11:22

Yep, did it twice yesterday.

playthestation · 31/03/2020 11:22

I mean, really, now is the time to stop using contraception? I can't imagine many women will be thinking like that.

Nobody is actively going to stop. Lots of people don't use it in the first place, or use it badly so it's less effective. Sometimes it even fails.

The point is if people are having more sex the overall chance of getting pregnancy will rise.

Greenpop21 · 31/03/2020 11:28

I would but teens here, one back from uni and they’re awake later than us!! DH still out early to work so no chance!

Deathraystare · 31/03/2020 11:28

Teenagers are roaming around like starving wildebeest at all hours of the day and night

That conjures up quite a picture! I really feel for anyone with teens/toddlers/inbetweeners at the moment.

TeeBee · 31/03/2020 11:30

The first few days, totally the opposite. I was struggling to cope with everyone being in the house. My boyfriend has had to move in with me temporarily because of the lockdown. I'm a total introvert so struggled with feeling totally peopled out. However, come week 2...realised how totally and utterly I adore this guy and what a wonderful human being he is. Got lots of time for talking and laughing and knowing each other inside and out and I can't put him down! Absolutely love having him around me. So, yeah, lots of action going on here.

HeyDuggeewatchadoin · 31/03/2020 11:33

God no. He's WFH and exhausted by the toddlers.
He's also resembling Robinson Crusoe already.

Booboooo · 31/03/2020 11:38

I hear ya crispysausagerolls

Purpletigers · 31/03/2020 11:41

The only baby boom will be fort born children . I imagine home learning is a wonderful contraception.

Sindragosan · 31/03/2020 11:44

Surely no-one thinks this is a good time to bring children into the world with a health service on its knees and no end in sight to the virus?

Have sex, sure, but I'd suggest doubling up on contraception if you're pre-menopause.

Purpletigers · 31/03/2020 11:44

First born that should say . Basically the poor buggers who have no idea what hell they’ll release. Yes they’ll be yours . No it won’t be different !

Doingtheboxerbeat · 31/03/2020 11:44

No because I live alone, but I am feeling very.... No I can't, tmi Blush.

Potkettlexx · 31/03/2020 11:47

Are you kidding? We’re on barometer at the opposite end- ready for divorce!

TeeBee · 31/03/2020 11:48

Is it only me that has sex with teenagers in the house?!? I'd never have sex if I waited for them to be out. We're capable of keeping it quiet. They are up later than us so I'm taking advantage of the fact that they're not upstairs as early as us.

PrimalLass · 31/03/2020 11:49

God no.

MissBax · 31/03/2020 11:49

Nope
