Just that. People keep saying there will be a baby boom in 9months and I wondered is it true? Are people really having more sex cause they are stuck at home??

Grin

Got locked in at dp's, kids are at home with their boyfriends (conveniently both appeared with suitcases within an hour of lockdown) no danger of a babyboom thou, I'm too old, they are sensible

Maxhiggins · 31/03/2020 11:52

Yes lots but no danger of babies

tiredanddangerous · 31/03/2020 11:52

God no. Dh is working really long hours,
the dc are exhausting and I’m not sleeping well. We’ll have forgotten how by the time life returns to normal.

Leona123321 · 31/03/2020 11:54

No chance. One child seems to always pop into our room to sleep in between us. I've actually forgotten what it's like to have sex! It's not that we don't want to. It just takes forever to get the kids to bed. Then I'm knackered lol!

I've also got a December child already. Don't want more Christmas babies thanks lol

Dandarabilla · 31/03/2020 11:55

Haha! Everybody is sex starved. You know the saying goes something like this: if you value your sex life, don’t get married...or have children.

BubblyBarbara · 31/03/2020 11:56

Haha. Seriously though, I think it's a bit different from starved as such.. the stress of the current situation basically just gets rid of the urge entirely. I don't miss what I don't want.

Leona123321 · 31/03/2020 11:57

@happytobeheresparkl

Omg same. I'm a night girl. I always think on Tele when they roll over and start snogging ewww morning breath lol.

Helmetbymidnight · 31/03/2020 12:01

I mean, really, now is the time to stop using contraception? I can't imagine many women will be thinking like that.
Nobody is actively going to stop. Lots of people don't use it in the first place, or use it badly so it's less effective. Sometimes it even fails.
The point is if people are having more sex the overall chance of getting pregnancy will rise.

Not really - the point is an expected baby boom. Getting accidentally pregnant doesn't mean people will go through with having babies, does it?

itzybitzy · 31/03/2020 12:01

Definitely not. I'm heavily pregnant and have a toddler dd. Dh is still out at work every day. We're both shattered by 7pm.
Most people with young children will unlikely be in the mood for it right now. I imagine it's only going to be first born children arriving in 9 months time Grin.

Tulipstulips · 31/03/2020 12:08

We’re not! We have a five year old with us at all times and when he goes to bed, we’re exhausted from trying to work full time and home school him!

It’d be crazy to get pregnant deliberately right now, anyway. Maybe 9 months after restrictions have lifted, there’ll be a baby boom.

TheReelSlimShady · 31/03/2020 12:11

Sadly not, I'm single and live alone and my playmates/FWBs are the same.

However, I have been engaging in a bit of camming with them which has been... interesting!

StarlightLady · 31/03/2020 12:19

Just before everything went bonkers, I bought 3 boxes of condoms during a regular supermarket shop as supplies were running low. And then, no visitors Sad!

I’ve got plenty of batteries as well though! Wink

Fishcakey · 31/03/2020 12:21

Definitely not. OH is still at work and stressed to the maximum. He was aghast at the idea when bored me suggested it lol. Better buy some batteries!

MarginalGain · 31/03/2020 12:23

God no. There's something decidedly un-sexy about this isolation....

ViciousJackdaw · 31/03/2020 12:31

I am permitting my DH to have his monthly blow job on the condition that he washes his cock in Dettol first.

Poetryinaction · 31/03/2020 12:32

No. I am busier wfh with 3 kids.

Magicpaintbrush · 31/03/2020 12:32

Nope! Way less than before lockdown for a number of reasons, the main one being that our DD has anxiety attacks and sometimes sleeps in our bed so DH sleeps in the spare room rather than get woken up as he can't deal with it, so prior to the schools closing we were happily at it in the afternoons when we were alone in the house, but now we have literally zero privacy and no opportunity whatsoever to be alone together. That and libidos took a hit with the stress - DH is a key worker and fretting about catching the virus at work because he is a smoker and he thinks his lungs are in bad shape already, he has lost weight worrying about it and carries an air of anxiety around permanently. Sex will be off the menu for a while I think. We'll have to make up for lost time when, hopefully, things start getting back to normal. Thank you universe.

sammylady37 · 31/03/2020 12:52

Nope, I live alone. Having lots of text/online fun though!

Shoxfordian · 31/03/2020 12:55

Not yet as I've been ill and now my husband is ill
Hopeful that normal service will resume by the weekend

crazydiamond222 · 31/03/2020 12:55

Less becuase we are both absolutely exhausted working and looking after children.

StarlightLady · 31/03/2020 12:56

@ViciousJackdaw - lf the Dettol runs out boiling water should do the trick! In a glass of course Grin!

Chickoletta · 31/03/2020 12:56

Yes, it’s happening a bit more than usual here - only after kids in bed though. I’m 9 weeks pregnant. Hope people are good enough at maths to work out that we’re not part of a lockdown baby boom!!
