Due to an increasing amount of time stuck inside or queuing for milk and bread I thought I'd share some of the idiots I've seen since lockdown started.

Man walking his dog in a gas mask, dog had a face mask on too.

Family of 6 shopping in asda, all had a trolley to comply with the 1 trolley 1 person rule.

Woman in asda spraying dettol on loose carrots before she packed them.

What else have we seen?

Fivefourthree · 29/03/2020 11:16

Tbf I'd probably laugh at some of the outfit choices too, just haven't seen any.
Dog in a mask sounds strange. Possibly looking at somebody with very high anxiety levels/ocd or similar though.
Assaulting shop workers is appalling.

1forsorrow · 29/03/2020 11:17

Asda shoppers LOVE to go there as a family outing, just love it, they spend all day there! Doesn’t happen so much anywhere else. How do you have the time to do this study of supermarkets? Is it a job or a hobby?

Soubriquet · 29/03/2020 11:17

I read it as car too

Talk about trying to find offence where they’re wasn’t

motherindenial · 29/03/2020 11:18

Does someone dare start a thread about Covid humour? Or would they get shot down for it straight away?

Toilet rolls? What do people do with all those loo rolls?

YgritteSnow · 29/03/2020 11:20

Mumsnet today is full of the baying crowds that would have been watching public floggings centuries ago

I called it a snake pit elsewhere but your description is better. Saw someone actually berating MNHQ earlier for deleting some of the awful personal attacks in relation to CV that are happening currently. Seems MN aren't doing enough to keep people informed Hmm and deleting personal attacks is a waste of time. They should ignore them apparently.

1forsorrow · 29/03/2020 11:21

Toilet rolls? What do people do with all those loo rolls? I think my GC eat them, now they can't visit the biggest difference I've noticed (apart from missing them) is that the toilet rolls are lasting ages.

PepePig · 29/03/2020 11:22

Oh, do give over Mabel. Stop trying to link a random observation back to yourself Hmm.

Someone stole toilet roll from the shop customer toilet which was incredibly trampy. A man buying cough medicine, with a persistent cough, coughing all over the CA. Fucking vile.

ShirleyPhallus · 29/03/2020 11:23

There appears to be a direct correlation between the people who are judgmental of others reasons for being out but have questionable reasons themselves. Busybodies.

Spending lots of time queuing for bread and milk? Heaven forbid someone could go without bread or milk, or buy two and freeze one.

lljkk · 29/03/2020 11:26

People are doing what they can do keep healthy.
It's churlish to complain about that.
Lockdown means My calorie expenditure is down ~6000/week (says the fitbit). That's huge, even though I'm still getting out for at least an hour/day.
Being very conscious about smaller portion sizes.

RedRed9 · 29/03/2020 11:26

I watched one woman fall off her massively oversized bike 10 times, she was wearing the amazing get up of a child's helmet, a pain of shin pads and flip flops.
And instead of thinking ^‘good for you for getting back up again’ you decided to scoff at her outfit?

Lockdown has obviously left you with a lot more time on your hands. Instead of using it staring out your window looking for people to judge, why not use it to learn a new skill or start a new hobby?

And when you fail at it the first ten times, I sincerely hope no one laughs at you.

cherrybunx0 · 29/03/2020 11:29

people love to be offended on this site it's hilarious.

OP was making imo a lighthearted thread which is needed I think! hasnt outed anyone so not sure why everyone is going mad lol

brilliant about the dog with the mask - btw I have OCD myself and even I think that's bonkers

zombieapocalypseisnigh · 29/03/2020 11:29

TBH, we would strongly prefer to not go without milk. Three kids, cereal is a staple and it helps keep them from feeling like they're starving ... 2 are teen boys and growing rapidly and always hungry!

EverdeRose · 29/03/2020 11:30

Shirley, I think most of us have spent time waiting to get into supermarkets this week when normally we'd just walk in. It's not about how many times I've been (once thankyou) but how now we're going alone and having to queue we have more time to notice things.

cherrybunx0 · 29/03/2020 11:30

I'll add one - someone putting on their facebook "stay home. save lives" but is still meeting up with friends and girlfriend daily plus posting pictures of said meet ups. fantastic

CeibaTree · 29/03/2020 11:32

I've started Couch25k since lockdown started as I just never had time before, what with commuting and fitting in everything around work. I really hope there aren't any judgemental people like you OP, noticing me lurching around the streets. This is a pretty mean basis for a thread - people (apart from those flouting the lockdown rules, and those stockpiling goods) are just trying to get by as best they can.

Rabblemum · 29/03/2020 11:33

Not exercising is very bad for people’s mental health. I get very depressed and fidgety if I don’t walk a few miles a day.

ShirleyPhallus · 29/03/2020 11:33

Actually @EverdeRose having seen some of the threads on having to pop out regularly for “essentials” I think a lot of people continue to go out unnecessarily

Lots of “while I was out I saw lots of people out shouldn’t they all be at home!”

Makeitgoaway · 29/03/2020 11:33

"she was wearing the amazing get up of a child's helmet, a pain of shin pads and flip flops". I think I might assume there must be some learning difficulties, especially if she really fell off 10 times.

NeedsAnotherGin · 29/03/2020 11:33

I hate seeing people wearing gloves. I've seen so many people wearing them and doing ridiculous things like touching their face or answering their phone with them on and even smoking. It's giving people a false sense of security. They are awful germ sponges and only protective when used and removed correctly. Please stick to washing your hands with soap and water or using alcohol based hand sanitiser.

AutumnRose1 · 29/03/2020 11:33

Rabble, it’s not good for physical health either. Madness if they ban it.

DogInATent · 29/03/2020 11:34

There's a lot of folk in our local park clearly walking the family dog for the first time. And I've also seen several people riding bikes who clearly haven't ridden in years.

EverdeRose · 29/03/2020 11:34

Thanks cherrybun keeping things light hearted at such a depessing time was my only intention.

Man walking his dog in a gas mask, dog had a face mask on too.

^maybe he was trying to make the neighbours smile as well as protecting himself, lighten up! smile!

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe · 29/03/2020 11:37

Yet another shitty, sneery thread... is this it? The best that we can do during a crisis?

You should be pulled up on posting threads like this so don't blame posters for doing just that.
