I'm using up some over ripe bananas and have a spice banana loaf in t'oven. I'll post a pic when it's out of the tin. As long as it doesn't look like the dog produced it.

Anyone else got delicious looking pics of food they've made? Not normally something I'm into but I think some of us are probably cooking/baking more than usual.

I cook from scratch a lot but haven't made a cake for a while.

Go on then, show me your grub Wink

Dd1 (10) made banana & chocolate loaf at “school” today. No chocolate chips in the house so we improvised & smashed up a twirl!

Pear and chocolate muffins with three very overripe pears. Only 1 egg required which was a bonus!

The darker loaves are the ones with cottage cheese in (you can't taste it). Makes it higher protein and was tasty.

Knowhowufeel2 · 30/03/2020 17:00

Also these:

Fudge and raisin cookies (better than Millie's!), which my 15yo made from my recipe

Bean and beetroot burgers

No knead sourdough bread

We're making pizza for dinner tonight. Our local pizza place delivered 6 large portions of dough last week and we have everything else we need. I'll post pictures tonight.

Ninkanink · 30/03/2020 18:00

Ohhhh what a fab idea! I wonder if any of our local places are doing that...

MissConductUS · 30/03/2020 18:05

In my experience any pizza place will sell portions of dough, even if it's not on the menu. It's better than you taking your money elsewhere.

There's a specialty Italian grocer near us who both makes pizza for take away and sells dough and their fab house made tomato sauce. I buy the sauce there. Their dough is okay but they only sell smallish portions.

Ooh we did banana loaf today too! Would post a pic but we seem to have eaten the entire thing 😬

MindatWork · 30/03/2020 19:27

Can anyone recommend a simple baking recipe that doesn’t use too many ingredients pls? I keep looking at what we’ve got in and the the ingredients we’ve got for one cake would make 3 days of scrambled egg/omelette lunches for DD (17 months), the flour and milk would make a white or cheese sauce for dinner, we could only get one stick of butter which I prefer to use for DD’s meals (we have rubbish olive spread 😑). We don’t have a big stockpile of baking stuff and I feel naughty using ingredients for cake when it could be used for meals.

This lockdown has really made me realise how much I take food supply and ‘nipping out to the shops’ for granted Confused

@Dixiechickonhols I've been using the primrose bakery books, the recipe is in the cupcakes one. Was rubbish at cakes until i found these

Toiletrollbuyer · 30/03/2020 19:36

@MindatWork we live near a farm and they put eggs out every day for the locals.
We made banana loaf as they were going off and it seemed less wasteful. 2 eggs, 140g of sugar and 140g of flour, and 140g of butter, along with 2 x bananas that were ready to go in the bin.
Made a huge banana loaf that was good for morale too

MindatWork · 30/03/2020 19:44

Ooh that sounds good @Toiletrollbuyer (love the name 😆) I’ll give that a try thank you.

I’ve just reread my post above and realised it might be interpreted as saying baking is wasteful at the moment - that’s not what I meant at all, hope I haven’t offended anyone 😩. I’m drooling looking at all these cake and brownie pictures!

Dixiechickonhols · 30/03/2020 20:46

clockworkprincess thank you

Purpletigers · 30/03/2020 20:50
