So with the supermarkets having limited stock, my cats have had to have cheaper supermarket own brand cat food.

They are refusing to eat it full stop. They might have a nibble here and there but they just wont eat

It has gone the other way for my dcat, usually buy the cheaper dry cat food but went shopping today and all they had was the more expensive nutritious brands. I have iams bought with a voucher at pets a home and now a 3kg bag of purina. That will last ages though.

I am however rationing her cat treats now, so that they last longer. She now doesn't harass me for them everytime I am in the kitchen so it is having the desired effect.Grin

I had a cat who thoroughly enjoyed helping herself to spaghetti bolognaise, prawn cocktail crisps, curry and smoked salmon, but if I dared to give her Lidl cat food you'd have thought I was trying to poison her. She also loved Whiskas in gravy but she rarely got it because she would lick all the gravy off and leave the meat.

My Siamese boys have very sensitive tummies so are on the royal canin gastrointestinal biscuits. One of them suddenly stopped eating a couple of weeks ago, but he's been his usual self and drinking plenty so thought he was maybe a bit stressed. He lost a bit of weight because I was mean and assumed he would start eating again when hungry enough. I then got really worried as he didn't, and have been giving him the emergency wet food equivalent which he loves. So now he'll probably never eat the biscuits again cos I gave in, and our already extortionate food bill is going to double, and cost more than I spend on human food!
