Ok I haven’t actually seen this film but I understand it’s about the spread of a killer virus.
I can’t help but think this is slightly ill timed!

Yes, it's about a lethal uncontrollable virus that kills in days.

It's precisely why they've put it on. Trending films in NowTv are all disaster movies, apocalyptic end of the works stuff. You don't have to watch it

IIRC it's the one that had the pandemic guy as a consultant on it. Hang on let me upgrade that memory with google. Here we go: Larry Brilliant, defeated smallpox, warned about pandemics and advised on the film Contagion. It might be interesting, if you've steady nerves

I would imagine people are watching things like this because they have a happy ending and it's sort of reassuring, cathartic.

Watch the film OUTBREAK if you get the chance (from the 1990s.) It's so good!

That's hardly the same thing OP. If someone close to me was dying the last thing I'd be doing is watching action movies on TV. I have been suffering with Covid-19 since Saturday and I'm deteriorating today, so I do have a horse in this race.

I want to watch it to pick up some tips from Matt Damon. Been ages since I saw it.

I paid to watch it on amazon too :-(, it is a good movie but lots of holes in it if you are the type to pick them. Watching pandemic on netflix which is very timely as it was produced last year I think.

@FloraGreysteel I do hope you turn a corner soon and start feeling better.

Maybe, maybe the audience will be the citizens that are seemingly not getting it when it comes to social distancing. If it's horrific enough perhaps they will get the message as their imaginations and intelligence don't seem to be able to join the dots without visual aids.

Yes from a doctor injecting herself I believe ... many years since I watched it. Don’t think that’s likely to happen

It's an amazing film, but is shockingly accurate compared to our current situation, panic buying, rumours of alternative medicines, hospitals being set up in stadiums...

I loved it most for the accuracy they had in showing how real lab work happens. Kate Winslet also brilliant.

I watched contagion last week and played the board game pandemic with my partner while I was sick haha

I'm a microbiologist and really enjoyed contagion, it was made in consultation with the WHO and epidemiologists I believe so a lot of that stuff in it is fairly reliable. I might record it to watch tomorrow!!

Nobody is forced to watch anything!
There is a whole lot of disney stuff trending too but that doesn't mean i will be watching it!

If *Contagion' makes all the idiots out there sit up and take notice then all to the good.
