That’s it really.
If you’ve successfully hidden your actual income from HMRC to dodge paying tax or child maintenance, what are you planning to do?
If you’re the other parent in this scenario, how are you feeling at the moment? Is this karma? Or will it wind up being worse for you and your dc in the long run?
I’m not sure what to think.

I’ve name changed as I don’t want to link this thread to any previous threads regarding my own situation.
Been here a decade. Cutted up pear. Your minge! Grin. Penis beaker yada yada.

BillyN0Mates · 25/03/2020 19:38

I hadn't even thought of that. Hahahaha

TheCanyon · 25/03/2020 19:38

A friend of dh has just told him he's been stating his earnings are a LOT less and now whinging he's fucked. Poor wee sausage. His self employed NOT essential job is apparently also much more important than his dws part time nhs one so he made her take the day off/ask for her dms help today so he could go work in some random house... twunt

Makeitgoaway · 25/03/2020 19:41

I expect they're still better off than they would have been if they paid the correct tax but they'll be cross Grin

Thescrewinthetuna · 25/03/2020 19:41

Karma.

nocoolnamesleft · 25/03/2020 19:42

Yes, this had crossed my mind. I'm not normally a fan of schadenfreude. But I can make an exception.

Nanalisa60 · 25/03/2020 19:47

My Hairdresser , nail lady , and my beauty therapist, all ask for cash I often wonder how much goes though the books !!

gypsywater · 25/03/2020 19:48

A shame for their kids tho (if they live with them)

Chillicheese123 · 25/03/2020 19:49

I said this. I know someone who’s employer who’s their pal declares like 15 hours a week when they do about 50 and pays them cash

Gonna be snookered now

NatashaAlianovaRomanova · 25/03/2020 19:50

Well if they're a Director as the only employee of a limited company taking the £720 a month to avoid paying tax & NI they're asking their payroll provider to amend February's payroll to show them earning £3,125 Hmm

Thatbloodybear · 25/03/2020 19:58

I know a right flash twat, drives a brand new range rover, owns a caravan with huge site fees etc. We got into a tussle as both wanted to buy the same house but he couldn't raise the mortgage as he'd been fiddling his books for so many years. Bet he's in the same position now Grin

ChrissieKeller61 · 25/03/2020 19:59

I have absolutely no luck whatever with these things and life generally but as a complete stroke of luck I was applying for a mortgage so have for the first time ever paid myself properly for the past three months

Triggahippy · 25/03/2020 20:03

Zero sympathy. I know people declaring they earn 12k who have children with every gadget going and that they are afraid to say no to and who also go on a few foreign holidays a year. This is all done on undeclared work. Welcome to real life.

KaronAVyrus · 25/03/2020 20:05

Struggling to find any sympathy.

listsandbudgets · 25/03/2020 20:09

I think the Norwegian scheme us that the earnings over a 3 year period are averaged out to work out the payment. If that's the case changing February will make very little difference

KaronAVyrus · 25/03/2020 20:15

Surely the February payroll has already been submitted to HMRC so it can’t be changed.

LaurieFairyCake · 25/03/2020 20:18

I have no idea how on earth they can work it out Confused

I do simple taxes. For those who don't know you declare your income, then you state the deductions and you pay tax on the balance.

So I earned (approx) £42,000. My deductions for costs was (approx) £14,000 and I paid (approx) £9,500 tax

Now, some of my costs aren't being paid this month as they don't apply (travel Hmm) but a fuck of a lot does (subscriptions/supervision/office costs/website/insurance)

So how on earth can they possibly work out what to give me?

Too little and I would not be able to start again easily

Too much and it would cripple me to pay it back

So I think they've got a dreadful task ahead.

Newkitchen123 · 25/03/2020 20:18

As a self employed person who does it by the book and pay what I owe. I have no sympathy

Sh05 · 25/03/2020 20:22

Definitely Karma! I have been thinking about this since the government announced there will be help provided to workers. Not in a maintenance capacity but we were ripped off massively by a rogue, cowboy builder who I know has been fiddling the numbers to avoid tax, we did report him to HMRC when all else failed but haven't held out much hope that he would get his cummopence.
Now though? I don't care how uncharitable it might seem... Karma at last

Sh05 · 25/03/2020 20:25

Thankyou for this thread, I feel justified now in feeling gleeful😁

lightlypoached · 25/03/2020 20:26

Am tuning up my tiny violin.

Twiggy71 · 25/03/2020 20:27

Karma works in mysterious ways.
My ex could only underpay child maintenance as he is self employed told me I just had to like or lump it. Cue fancy cars, holidays etc i hope it bites him on the arse big time!!

Charley50 · 25/03/2020 20:30

It would be a fuck of a lot easier to pay everyone, apart from still employed / paid PAYE workers, a citizens wage. They won't have the person power to go through all the applications.

MulberryPeony · 25/03/2020 20:31

Just for those feeing gleefulness - self employed and ltd company director will be treated in different ways so don’t count those Karma chickens just yet!

Charley50 · 25/03/2020 20:31

Sorry I know that's not the point of the thread..

NatashaAlianovaRomanova · 25/03/2020 20:31

@KaronAVyrus you can amend a previously submitted payroll & submit an additional payment summary with correction to earlier submission as the reason
