And if he tries to talk his way out of it, don't put up with any flannel.

ba-dum-tish

Pan · 11/09/2007 12:27

And no soft-soap either....

DaDaDa · 11/09/2007 12:30

Put enough pressure on him and he's sure to fold.

I'm turning into my Dad.

bamzooki · 11/09/2007 15:10

ROFL @ DaDaDa

Twinkie1 · 11/09/2007 15:13

God I am from now on going to call my airing cupboard a towel press - it sounds dead posh doesn't it - but it is just an airing cupboard and you are lucky that your DH opens yours!

tassisssss · 11/09/2007 15:15

Dabbles - sympathy from me

Dh has an inability to put towels in the right pile, linen in the right pile, plastic boxes/tubs in the right pile, our wee ones clothes in the right piles...

sometimes it gets to me, sometimes I ignore it, sometimes I patiently explain the system to him (again), I have even wondered about putting wee laminated labels on the shelves but i figure that's a step too far!

Spillage21 · 11/09/2007 15:26

Am intrigued by pollywollydoodle's DPs face towel/bum towel combo - does he do his own version of top and tailing?

Cappuccino · 11/09/2007 15:32

god you are freakish

are you expecting the towel police?

WHY DOES IT MATTER WHAT ORDER THE TOWELS ARE IN? Surely you can tell what is a hand towel and a bath towel by the thickness when you take them out?

Meeely2 · 11/09/2007 15:42

this is me and DH in reverse....he has OCD, I don't, he's wound up and tense, i'm not!

Currently our 'towel press' doesn't even have a door, so I have the upper hand at the mo.......

stleger · 11/09/2007 15:59

Are you Irish Dabbles? I have a hot press, but I hate kitchen cupboards being called presses. And you really do not want to know about the horrors of my hot press!

Dabbles · 11/09/2007 18:56

lol, yes stleger. well of descent. cupboards re always called 'presses'
ie: airing cupboard - hot press.. hence i confused people with my op!

kindersurprise · 11/09/2007 19:42

ROFL at this thread, my DH would not know the towel press if it came up and introduce itself. Although he does get pissed off if I don't put the jam on the top shelf of the fridge.

You should leave him, no knowing what dastardly things he will be getting up to next. What if he puts the socks in the wrong drawer?

pollywollydoodle · 11/09/2007 20:53

dear spillage i meant to write face flannel and bum flannel....but yes he does top and tail himself .....

please don't get me started on the Rules For Toe Nail Clipping in our house

Flibbertyjibbet · 11/09/2007 21:02

Sounds to me like you need a combi boiler, that will get rid of your 'towell press' airing cupboard then you can find some other towell storage place malfunction to complain about!
men dont' KNOW THE DIFFERENCE between a hand towell and a bath towell!!! They just see something to dry themselves with.
Excuse me now I have a pile of damp towels to pick up from my bathroom floor.

crumpet · 11/09/2007 21:08

can I ask when one uses a bum flannel?

We are clearly sub-hygenic in our house

Spillage21 · 11/09/2007 21:14

A flannel devoted to his bottom? What's wrong with a bit of upside down shower-head action to clean his nether regions?

Totally with you re: toe nail clippings. Especially when DH has fungal infection....

Yeuuuuuwwwwww

pollywollydoodle · 11/09/2007 22:19

bum flannel is for use when having a wash at the sink...no need for any flannel in the shower as he has a nice puff to buff himself with then!

by the way it's ME who is the slut in terms of toe nail clipping...

owing to husband treading on previous low flying clippings i am now restricted to cutting my toenails
1 after a bath,
2 in the said bath so all clippings can be contained within it
3 rinsing bath so all clippings are disposed of
wouldn't surpise me if he nips in with a bit of bleach for the drain after when i'm not looking

chipmonkey · 11/09/2007 22:41

I think we Irish girls should set up a glossary of Irish terms and phrases to avoid confusion!

cluelessnchaos · 11/09/2007 22:45

I am of scottish descent and they were always called presses, though it did tak me a while to click, but bum flannel?????

chipmonkey · 11/09/2007 22:48

Don't think bum flannel is specifically Irish!

stleger · 11/09/2007 23:01

Twould be a bum facecloth though where I am from.

cluelessnchaos · 11/09/2007 23:04

thats an oxymoron isnt it

Kewcumber · 11/09/2007 23:07

oh god can;t be arsed to trawl through the whole thread - someone please explain what a towel press is. We have a towel pile - is it similar only flatter?

cluelessnchaos · 11/09/2007 23:08

a press is a cupboard

cluelessnchaos · 11/09/2007 23:09

only flatter
