Im 7 months pregnant and had a huge craving for a fish finger sandwich. I made one using the last of the fish fingers, loads of real butter on thick white bread and lots of ketchup and it was absolutely divine! Then my 2 year old comes along and licked the remaining half sandwich then coughed on it! I could cry Sad

id eat it and i dont even have children-dont waste food

OliviaBenson · 24/03/2020 16:40

What a waste of food.

TroysMammy · 24/03/2020 16:41

My kitten nicked a piece of buttered malt loaf and placed it on his food mat when my back was turned. I picked it up and ate it. That was 4 months ago I'm still here.

Crackerofdoom · 24/03/2020 16:42

You are a fool to be upset over fish fingers when you have crisps.

A crisp sandwich is truly the food of the gods

mynameiscalypso · 24/03/2020 16:42

I have also eaten food that I'm pretty sure my 7 month old has chewed and spat out.

annamie · 24/03/2020 16:42

Surely if you have an aversion to your child’s saliva and germs then you would have put the sandwich out of reach? Sorry OP but this is all on you.

I sympathise though as I dropped the last piece of cake on the floor yesterday. Now I won’t be eating that.

WhateverHappenedToBathPearls · 24/03/2020 16:43

My 2 year old licked my face and coughed in it this morning. I'm also 7 months pregnant and I'd totally have eaten the sandwich.

PlatoAteMySnozcumber · 24/03/2020 16:44

Would have eaten it without a second thought

MoonBlood · 24/03/2020 16:45

Depends on the flavour.. prawn cocktail or salt and vinegar are delicious in a crisp butty!

That’s cracked me up 😂

I wouldn't eat it. But then i would have given half to the toddler in the first place. Fish finger sandwiches is toddler food 😆

What else can you make? Toast and butter? Dippy eggs?

DramaAlpaca · 24/03/2020 16:47

I'm with you, OP, I couldn't eat it either. It's a long time since I had toddlers but I could never bring myself to eat their leftovers or anything they'd licked. Sympathies for the loss of your delicious finger sandwich though Sad

Gingerkittykat · 24/03/2020 16:49

Could you have removed the licked slice of bread and put the filling in new bread?

I’m a decent cook but that’s what I was craving so I had to have it, she’s already had her lunch! 😂

A fishfinger sandwich isn't my thing, but generally speaking, I wouldn't have thought twice about eating it.

DitheringDoris · 24/03/2020 16:50

I am a human dustbin but I couldn’t bring myself to eat it, I’ve never eaten my sons leftovers either, I just can’t do it.

IHaveBrilloHair · 24/03/2020 16:51

Meh, I'd still eat it if my cat did that.

diddl · 24/03/2020 16:54

Did the toddler eat it?

If I wasn't going to eat it it would be their next meal!

Well, fish fingers for tea time for me!

Just with remoulade though!

Nor me! I’m daft enough about that sort of thing at the best of times, can’t share a cup or a fork or anything with the kids or the OH. I am aware of the reasons why that makes no sense, but I can’t help it 🤷‍♀️ It’s so much worse since I’ve been pregnant this time though!

She ate the fish fingers but sort of mauled the bread until it was a soggy saucy mess 🙈

WhatTiggersDoBest · 24/03/2020 16:56

Surely the logical answer, given that it was the last of the fish fingers but not the bread or butter, was to butter a new piece of bread and transplant the fish fingers, then fold it over to make a new half-sandwich? Or did he open the sandwich before licking/coughing?

WhatTiggersDoBest · 24/03/2020 16:57

Sorry X-post with your last. She ate the fish fingers. I see. :(

ChardonnaysPetDragon · 24/03/2020 16:58

I'm only surprised it hasn't happened until now. Toddlers are dirty buggers.

Thekindofwindowsfaceslookinat · 24/03/2020 16:58

The people telling you to eat the sandwich will be the same ones who are sniping and being horribly rude who asked on another thread for guidance for walking her dog alone

Not everyone. I vote for eating the sandwich and the thread bullies can fuck off Grin

a snivelling crotch goblin this though...makes me shudder.
