To think MNHQ should inform me why my thread has been deleted?

Perfectly genuine thread posted last night about my 7 year old daughter.
Received good advice.
Message on the post this morning saying it has been deleted while they "look behind the scenes.."

No messages or emails from MNHQ.

I assume someone must have reported it for some reason.

StealthMama · 24/03/2020 07:34

Or they deleted the wrong tread and someone else has the email

Bazoo23 · 24/03/2020 07:35

Fair to keep me in the loop though, no?
Instead of making me feel like some kind of troll for posting concerns about my daughter.

Yes it was a sensitive subject but a quick google search reveals several others of the same topic on MN.

Was it anything to do with toileting or genitals or similar, by any chance? Sadly, there are a lot of sick trolls who post late at night when moderators aren't around about things like this. It may have been hidden until someone gets a chance to look at your account this morning and check it is genuine.

user1495884620 · 24/03/2020 07:40

It's 7.30am and the country has just gone into lockdown. I'm sure they will contact you in due course.

Bazoo23 · 24/03/2020 07:42

A thread about an intimate concern about my daughter has been removed while they "look behind the scenes."

Sounds terrible to be honest, like I've posted for some sick thrills. I wont be posting on MN anymore.

OP posts:
STAYTHEFUCKHOME · 24/03/2020 07:46

@Bazoo23 surely you would rather MNHQ err on the side of caution about sensitive subjects?

They hide it, someone reviews when they are working during business hours. They’ll bring it back up when they discover everything is kosher.

You are taking it far too personally.

Bazoo23 · 24/03/2020 07:48

While it was being deleted it would have took 5 seconds to send a quick message explaining why.

Does anyone know how to message MNHQ please? I would like the whole thread and my account removing.

Before all the "you dont need to announce your departure" posts I want to make sure everything I ever posted on MN is removed before I deactivate.

AgentJohnson · 24/03/2020 07:48

Wow Op, considering what going on in the world maybe you could grant them some slack. You aren’t the only person on here and sadly there are far too many trolls, be patient.

FamilyOfAliens · 24/03/2020 07:48

They base these decisions on their experience of posters stating threads with dubious intentions.

Don’t get the hump because they’re being pro-active in weeding such posters out. I’m sure if you can advise them how to sort the genuine posters from the non-genuine ones on an anonymous forum, they love to know.

AgentJohnson · 24/03/2020 07:51

Me, me, me! Even the flounce has to be announced.

Bazoo23 · 24/03/2020 07:51

Thank you but a pandemic doesnt stop me from being concerned about my daughter. I work for the NHS so life goes on for us.
Anyone know how to message MNHQ?

OP posts:
elshajd · 24/03/2020 07:51

Get a life

TheoriginalLEM · 24/03/2020 07:51

You don't know why It was deleted, hold on until they respond. Report this thread to them and that will flag it up.

Bazoo23 · 24/03/2020 07:52

LEM no I would like it permanently removing. Just need to message MNHQ but unsure how.

OP posts:
STAYTHEFUCKHOME · 24/03/2020 07:53

By your own admission they have taken it down whilst they look behind the scenes.

Surely that must give you an idea that this isn’t necessarily permanent.

You work for the NHS and yet you are overdramatising something as menial as this?! Fuck, we are all doomed.

Thank you Lougle.
Have sent a message and am now logging out, I assume my account will be deactivated at some point as I have requested.
Feel free to continue amongst yourselves but I won't be replying or logging in.

Cadfaelfan · 24/03/2020 08:03

Was this the one about your 7 year old daughter going into early puberty?

If so, it was probably reported because there are unfortunately a lot of trolls who post on mumsnet trying to elicit sexualised accounts of pubescent children to use as wank-fodder.

Sorry to be blunt, but it's true.

You gave quite a lot of description of the kind of detail these people enjoy. I wondered whether to report your post myself.

Bazoo23 · 24/03/2020 08:07

Really did not want to reply but while my account is active I simply cannot leave that unchallenged.
I gave no "detail" whatsoever! Stated that my daughter had discovered pubic hair and that I was concerned. I did not describe anything of the sort. Was asked if she had breast development and stated no!

OP posts:
UseByDateExpired · 24/03/2020 08:27

Bazoo, this isn’t personal criticism of you.
People have explained that there is an issue with horrible trolling on MN.

I don’t know why MNHQ haven’t contacted you, probably because they haven’t started work yet after the night watch simply hide threads.

It is just caution on a site about children. Like Safeguarding, they will err on the side of caution.

You don’t need to take it so personally.

OlaEliza · 24/03/2020 08:30

You can deactivate your own account.

BringMeTea · 24/03/2020 08:54

You are overreacting. Massively.

GoFiguire · 24/03/2020 08:58

TAAT

This won’t last long.
