DH decided this was perfect viewing for this evening. WIBU not to have just gone straight to bed.

Apparently Contagion is top of iTunes list. Or at least it was the other day.

Willow and Mister there is an alternative ending to I am Legend that's more upbeat (crap, and makes no sense but more upbeat)

Mockerswithnoknockers · 24/03/2020 15:49

We need a remake of The Walking Dead, with the Zombies staggering down the road, arms out, all whispering, toilet roll...

Willow2017 · 24/03/2020 15:54

Film channel are showing Alien Covenant and Prometheus this week, if you want to mess with your minds as to what infection is!

Disclaimer - I am taking no responsibility if you are left gibbering in the corner after watching them with your brains dripping out your ears!

in that cse I think I will pss Wink

Willow2017 · 24/03/2020 15:56

Pass! My 'a' on my keyboard is playing up!

JollyHostess · 24/03/2020 16:03

@WhentheRabbitsWentWild
Marianne Dreams, from the Catherine Storr book

Halfeatentoast · 24/03/2020 16:18

Willow probably wise. Maybe we should read the original book instead as it's apparently superior to all.

Wiltinglillies · 24/03/2020 16:19

Where was your DH watching OP?
It's just YouTube. We have it on the TV. Bad quality but watchable.

Apparently Contagion is top of iTunes list. Or at least it was the other day.
It's not just my amusingly warped DH then!
I was surprised by how watching Survivors really calmed me down. First decent night of sleep in weeks.

I'll have to watch it all to find out what has happened to the son. The remake, that I did watch was, as someone else mentioned, scrapped, so we never did find out.

Thanks for reminding me about Doomwatch, DG
I had forgotten that
It was superb

BigChocFrenzy · 24/03/2020 16:54

Yes, iirc, none of these epidemic / apocalyptic TV series twigged the importance of loo rolls

StarbucksSmarterSister · 24/03/2020 16:56

I remember watching Survivors, with my parents, as a teenager. It seemed very scary and yet far fetched then.

Whenwillthewashingend · 24/03/2020 17:07

Contagion is on Thursday night on Itv2.
I have it set to record. I'm not sure why. Confused

Mockerswithnoknockers · 24/03/2020 17:36

I have the DVD set of Doomwatch. Used to have to beg to stay up and watch the killer rats and melting aircraft.

It's a 1970s time capsule alright, complete with sexism that will make you gasp, and so much innuendo that went right over my little head at the time.

DGRossetti · 24/03/2020 17:41

Anyone remember 1990 with Edward Woodward in a world of 2CVs (oh, the irony ...)

FadedRed · 24/03/2020 19:58

We have Survivors box set, just put the first episode on last week to remind ourselves of the intro, having come up in conversation. Of course we are now hooked on it. Very odd to be watching it with everything going on now, though some of the ‘science’ is a bit woolly and the ‘special effects’ are of their era.

SapatSea · 24/03/2020 20:57

Quality TV. How scary is the welsh tramp.
Best TV intro ever IMHO, conveyed everything you need to know and awesome music.

phlebasconsidered · 24/03/2020 23:20

And "Threads" of course. Absolutely made me justified in my teen panic about cold war. If you want to be really freaked out google "Protect and Survive" to watch the public info films we were subjected to. Those door against the wall shelters would be fuck all use!

GrimDamnFanjo · 25/03/2020 01:24

Fuck me. As a child of the 80s there's no way I'd ever watch threads again!
