I completely forgot, I just went online to purchase a sustainable gift box. I spent more than usual because I felt so guilty. I feel I should be looking out for my mother more in these times. I can't be the only one to forget?

No 🙊

MuddyPuddlesAndPrettyBubbles · 20/03/2020 15:44

I ordered flowers this morning.

Redcrayons · 20/03/2020 15:50

I ordered flowers and posted a card.

I don’t think she’ll be too happy that I’m not going to see her on Sunday. Her and my dad are in the ‘its Not for us it’s for the really old people’ camp.

MysweetAudrina · 20/03/2020 15:52

Ordered a flower delivery for her and mil earlier today, just to let them know we are thinking of them

DustyMaiden · 20/03/2020 15:54

My DM is no longer with us. For the first time it feels like a positive.

TwoZeroTwoZero · 20/03/2020 15:54

I went to Tesco yesterday and bought her a potted plant. A couple of weeks ago I bought her a bottle of wine and a joke "Tesco Value" label to stick into it. I took them to her house this afternoon.

Ginkypig · 20/03/2020 15:56

I ordered flowers and a bottle of prosecco before this all got really bad (although it haven't even properly started yet!) but now I'm worried about it arriving and her receiving it as my mother is in one of the vulnerable groups. Sad

Paranoid I know!

lubeybooby · 20/03/2020 15:56

yes online with a card from moonpig.com and delivered direct to her

Waspie · 20/03/2020 15:56

I've got mine a Netflix subscription. She and dad will have to stay in and self-isolate as they are old and vulnerable so it seemed like a good idea.

Boulshired · 20/03/2020 15:56

With isolation of the children and DP working long hours, I have bought my own to give to DP to then give to the children to give to me. Also sent MIL her card and gift. It will definitely be a social media Mother’s Day this year.

cathyandclare · 20/03/2020 15:57

I bought her lovely lounge wear in the hope it'll encourage her to self isolate!

Lyricallie · 20/03/2020 15:58

I ordered flowers a few days ago and posted her card yesterday. :)

AnneLovesGilbert · 20/03/2020 15:59

I made her a photo book of pix of my DD’s first year with lots of them together. I’ll drop it off to her tomorrow and have flowers arriving at hers on Sunday. Totally forgot the send the card but I’ll drop it off.

WeirdCatLady · 20/03/2020 15:59

All sorted here.
Dd ordered me a boatload of clarins goodies which turned up today.
Ddog asked me to buy myself a large bottle of booze, which Sainsburys kindly delivered today too Grin

DrDreReturns · 20/03/2020 15:59

No but I've only ever bought cards for my Mum for Mother's Day.
I haven't got DW anything on behalf of the kids this year (they are little,) she's fine with it in the circumstances.

DriveMeCrazy1974 · 20/03/2020 15:59

@Waspie - that was a great gift. I imagine they'll be really grateful for that - will keep them entertained for hours. Also, might be worth letting them know that iPlayer has loads of series box sets on now, that they might enjoy!

IceniSky · 20/03/2020 16:01

I have a book and will pick daffs from the garden, but worried it may all be contaminated. I'm also worried about the food she has being contaminated.

WeAllHaveWings · 20/03/2020 16:01

I order my mum a couple of 1000 piece jigsaws to keep her occupied over the coming weeks. She usually finishes them within a week so wont last long!!!!!

HoneysuckIejasmine · 20/03/2020 16:03

Luxury soaps. Useful, and supporting a small business to keep going in these difficult times.

Sexnotgender · 20/03/2020 16:04

Yes, I usually send flowers and a card and we often have dinner but the last couple years the flowers have been really disappointing. And obviously we can’t do dinner.
This year I’ve sent a bottle of grey goose😂 if you’re in quarantine you may as well enjoy it!

MsSquiz · 20/03/2020 16:07

I ordered flowers for MIL weeks ago, as I usually just order her a bouquet and then we would split playing for everyone's lunch with BIL & SIL. DH will pop round with a card later & some brownies that we had delivered today.

It's my first Mother's Day so I'm hoping DD (via her daddy) has at least got me a card. I'm not fussed about anything else.

There was supposed to be 14 of us going out for lunch on Sunday, so now we'll either get a takeaway from that restaurant or I'll make something for me, DD & DH and FaceTime MIL

vitaminCandzinc · 20/03/2020 16:08

I used this as an opportunity to support a small business, but the best thing last minute seems to be flowers

Got a pot of some sort of flower

No idea what

vampirethriller · 20/03/2020 16:24

I sent a card. I only ever do that anyway.

Etinox · 20/03/2020 16:33

I sent a card.
Please please don’t visit your mothers. Leave stuff on the doorstep, wave through the window, shout from the end of the drive, in call and FaceTime, but don’t go and see her.
